Im somewhat cautious when it comes to my car. Im looking to get a locking gas cap, so these little knucklehead that live near me dont hate on me and put somecrap in the tank. I bought a Stant locking gas cap, its the same size, but it has two plastic lumps that block it from fitting. Any suggestions. 2006 Infiniti m35.

When you have your car locked you should not be able to open the gas fill door.
Why do you need a locking cap?

Agreed. Locking gas caps I think are designed for the older cars.....but what do I know...I dont live around Hooligans.

Do you think they will pry open your gas lid?

Confirmed on the locking door. Car will lock it when you lock the car.

I'm thinking of my usual smart a** remark-but can't. It's Sunday morning. I'll give it a rest.

Above, you said it best.

I just checked Ebay and (if they are correct) the Stant fuel cap model number you need is: 80530 for M35 / M45 2006. There are other sellers who claim their product will fit an M35, but this seller actually lists the fuel cap model# above and states clearly it is for M35 / M45 2006 thru 2010 model years.

Actualy, it can be opened while locked. If you put enough pressure on the back of the door, it will open. I have seen it done on my car and was upset afterwards.

thanx fellas. i didnt realized the door locks once u hit the alarm. One other issue. I removed my tires last week so i could check why my front brakes squeal. Rotors didnt look warped, so i guess ill take them to pepboys where the previous owner recently got the rotors/ pads installed. Anyways, i set my alarm, and removed my wheels. THE ALARM DIDNT GO OFF. Since im planning on buying 20" in the near future, im thinking of getting those Gorilla lug nuts. Anyone have one of those Page Alarms? yes i live near hooligans.

Don't sweat the hooligans, mate. They have to live somewhere too. I'm concerned that your alarm didn't react to jacking up the car and removing wheels. Could it be that you had the smart key on your person and the alarm won't sound if the smart key is present? I have no idea, of course and no Infiniti tech background, but that thought came to mind.
