I want to swap out my valve body for one that will firm up my shifts and make my transmission more responsive. I'm caught between Level 10 and IPT Performance and need help deciding which to go with.

I've got the Level 10. It is crisp. Pat at Level 10 is good to deal with.

I want to get rid of the lazy upshifts and the delayed downshifts. It sounds more like the transmission is waiting for the engine to rev up to a certain RPM before it downshifts when I want to pass someone. What do you think about the torque converter stall speed? What would one recommend that would give a better response when accelerating yet still be driveable when pulling away from a stop?

The stall speed seems like it is 500 to 800 RPM higher than stock. I think Wes or QZilla will remember the exact numbers. Actually, I don't drag race it but my passengers do comment about riding in a torque monster with shifts they feel in their neck.

I've grown so accustomed to the Q's performance over the years that any other car that I drive just feels strange - especially the ones with a bizarre transmission named Hondamatic..

What did the Level 10 valve body cost ?

I guess you figured out the weird detonation problem?
