Based on inflation I do not believe that car would be worth $18,800 which would be the price today.

Not really. Today's cheap vehicles are built much better and have far greater safety standards and electronics for the same "price".

I'm just saying, a "modern" 720 (Frontier) will cost you that much.

And the 720 was pretty well-appointed for its time, believe it or not.
