Hey Guys!

I am brand new to NICO Club and here is my 1st post! I have a 2001 Infiniti Qx4 and i purchased a 42" LED Bar that i have mounted to my roof. I have it all wired up using a 5 pin relay so that when i turn my highbeams on the LED bar also turns on. I also wired in a master switch for the LED bar to turn it off without effecting the normal headlights. Here's my issue...I took apart my steering column to access my headlight/highbeam switch & wires. I found the connector that turns on and off my headlights and highbeams but when i wired my LED bar into the wire it doesnt do what i want to.

As of right now, when i turn my lowbeam lighs on the LED bar comes on too. What i wanted it to do is come on only when i turn my highbeam lights on. I tried searching high and low for a wiring diagram for the turn signal switch but i couldn't find one. any help would be very much appreciated!!

Thanks Guys!
Mike

rather than splice into the signal stalk, why not tap the wire at the fuse box? Or, at worst, use an ohm meter to find the correct wire, using the highbeam wire at the interior fusebox ...

Personally, if I were you, i'd wire the lightbar independent of any other lights (so, on its own switch).

If you get a chance, could you shoot up some pictures of how you mounted the lightbar? i've wanted to do it for a while, but i've been kept at bay because of the cost but i'd like to take in ideas on mounting while i wait!

I wired our monster lights to come on with the high beams as well... Basically, because it's more natural to flick the stalk than fumble for a switch.

@AZhitman - where did you splice into for the highbeams?

@fueler - I tried to tap into the fuse box first but there was no specific fuse dedicated strictly to highbeams...i turned my Q on and pulled out every single fuse relating to headlights and not one fuse controlled only highbeams. Instead it would control lows and highs.

Ever get a chance to take some pics of the mounting job? I am also looking at getting 42" curved LED bar, but not sure how I want to mount it yet.
