Looking to replace my struts on my 98 QX4 and was planning to use KYB GR2 Struts.

Might be some truth to it... Just like nissan cars that were made in japan like the r50s vs r51s.

Japan vs USA is really never Japan vs USA..
The CNC machinery used to build parts is identical, from there is the specific company decisions to use higher grade materials and to spend more labor in fittment.

In this modern age, you really do get what you pay for when you have a choice of 4+ vendors. Even people claiming that company X makes vendor y products dont realize the amount of difference fine polishing moving parts can make to the longevity of the product and those steps are usually not priced out by the cheaper vendors.

P.S. I just depise Escorts.... I even stopped seeing a girl when I found out she drove a escort.. Irrational I agree, but just like any other phobia, it is real to me.

Back when I went to school in Washington DC I would commute on a moped and if I got next to a Escort I would kick it then drive away..
