TireBuyer is trying to get on board here, and wants to get a feel for what kind of traffic we might be able to send them - So, let's show them how we roll at NICOclub!

We go through tires here at NICO HQ like toilet paper, so I'm doing some shopping of my own tonight.

Also, give us some feedback on what you think of their pricing, so we can share it with them.

They don't beat the pricing at Tire Rack, but are within $1 or $2 of the Rack for the same rubber.

One model has a $20 discount for using a Tire Buyer installer AND has free shipping. Thats a great deal for that one specific tire (that I'm not interested in), but not enough to really sway my purchase from Tire Rack or an independent if all things were equal though.

^ Good to know.

TireRack has been good to us, but it's always good to see what kind of pricing is out there.

If I read correctly, the shipping to my house is 25% of what tire rack quotes. It's free shipping to one their approved installers, and they quote install prices. I think I'll be contacting a nearby Firestone that they list tomorrow. If everything checks out, the exploder will get new rubber this weekend.

The prices are un-impressive. The website I usually go through gets way better deals.

I found some that were a smoking deal, and others that I can do better locally or through TR.

Outstanding tire! When we still had our Xterra those held up to everything we threw at them. And despite the year pattern they're not very noisy.

i saw mixed reviews, but hearing from a knowledgeable and reputable source such as you (calm your ego :chuckle: ) makes me feel better. besides, it's my second vehicle which will only see dirty and snow duty, so the miles put on it over the years will be minimal. noise? just turn that volume knob to the right and nod your head to the wu tang clan.

I have to correct myself, we were running Rugged Terrain tires from BFG, not the Rugged Trails. I wouldn't have given it a second thought until I read the part you wrote about mixed reviews, the reviews for the Terrains were pretty positive across the board.

i just rechecked the costco site. the tires i'm looking at are actually the rugged terrains, not trail. i was flipping back and forth between 4-5 tabs yesterday, while on the phone. add my short attention span, and you've got a recipe for loads of mix-ups.
