Post

I'll Start off fresh with a new thread.

Day 1 $500 Shell

$400 Motorset

Installed

Wish I still had this VC on

Wouldn't run, had no compression) here's why [IMG][/IMG] http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn...4.jpg

Every cylinder had the valves stuck open against the head I got a new head for $60 (I believe) and swapped it in and got Kenji running. I got a VLSD off a Hicas 240 @ Pick N Pull for $75 (I think) Day I installed it is the day I threw a rod bearing I found out after that happened the guy I bought my motorset from was essentially a piece of SH*T.

So I bought a Motor and Harness off my friend for $200 had a blown HG so I swapped it and it started up perfect the first turn of the key

Smogged and Registered car ($365 in back fee's )

Parts afterward include:

Jonnie Frazz Front Strut BarPowered By Max Subframe CollarsUsed Nismo Powerbrace from friend for $60 My own version of the RPSport Subframe Support Brace zer...r-s13 I picked up a black hood free of dents Set of Roadline S5 Wheels (15x6.5 +22)Borrowed Tein HR'sEbay Tail lightsCustom Made Rear Brace

Pics of it at that stage of the game

Man Brace

Rattle canned front bumper

Did a lil photoshoot with my boy Scott and his 2 tone http://viewmorepics.myspace.co...26814

Me and Scott matching stickers @ Thunderhill Skidpad event

Update as of 8/12/09

-Running 1" spaces on rear until I buy my own full set-My Stance GR+ (I ended up being shipped Pro's ) finally arrived-I put on a Chuki front end I spray painted car 1 color (gunmetal bumper and fenders, black hood, red car= No Dice)-Installed 08' Scion xB radio -Installed 350z seat (getting my passenger seat tomorrow)-New Stickers -Awesome Mirror (move aside Broadway)-Friend and I used a pipe to roll the fenders and do slight pull, I then used a sledhammer to flatten the inner lip completely-Shaved Antenna hole-Shaved Trunk Lock

Mirror

Stereo

BBombs are borrowed from a friend for Fulltrack Drift event I went to on 8/11/09 (yesterday as of this post)

Stances are lowest they'll go without me changing the spring position (affecting preload) They sit a lil lower in the rear then the Tein HR's (which were slammed all the way) So technically I could drop the car more but it too low right now Once I get the EastBear lip, skirts and rear valances I might raise it up a bit.

New Sticker

Muffler is Spray painted bronze but fulltrack left it might dirty

Revised Sticker

ThunderDrift!!! ThunderHill has an awesome track and skidpad

Better Shot of Antenna shaved if you hadn't noticed (electrical tape once covered the hole)

350z Seat (wish I picked these up b4 the fulltrack)

Car would have been a much brighter blue had I primered it all first kiinda wish I had but hopefully I'll be painting the car (with a paint gun!) next year after my kit pieces.

Action shots that have been posted so far of my car courtesy of http://speedzoku.com/

I really hope that someone got some other shots of me where I was really killin' it! It was tough out there my throwout bearing gave me issues after last months skidpad, and my clutch started to slip on me b4 lunch @ fulltrack. After lunch It had cooled down and I initiated more with my E-Brake than clutch kicks which helped save my clutch until the end of the day when it almost died completely.

I'm lovin the 240 right now, tho I want to get my skills down in the 240. Fulltrack in December I think I'll be throwing a EBC in my 300zx and take her out. Couldn't hold the drifts for alot of the long turns with the DOHC

Hope you all enjoyed the fresh thread with alot more updates

I liked it but I didn't want to color match the front end, I really wish I primered the whole car first would have been a much brighter blue and took less cans...we live and we learn.
cody180sx wrote:were did u get the rear-view mirror i've been wanting to do that for a long time.
I work @ Carmax and inspect cars that we buy from customers and auctions. I found the mirror in a Dodge Ram Just a week before I had bought a Broadway mirror (I tossed the Broadway in my Z32) I'll look and see if there is a name brand on the back.

Ebay tails fits just perfect Thank You, and it's a 160w Deck I believe so I can get some pretty decent speaker to replace the aftermarkets I have in right now (Deck sounds way better than my old Pioneer plus it plays MP3 CD's )
whyteboi wrote:im completely inlove with the first set of wheels
The Roadlines or the Konig BBombs? I do love my roadlines I want to find a shop to custom widen them and make them like 8" Front and 9" rear.
s14derrick wrote:some good progress so far. i wont more info on that mirror. better then a broadway but not too big.
When the extensions are pushedin it's about 1/2" wider in each side and I believethe same height. Obviously much wider with them extended

Love the pics too does the car justice, Once I get my kit pieces i'll be painting it!!!! Yeah I might try trimming the stereo and surround to have proper fitment but it stayed put while @ the track.

For $70 how could I resist. (My friend really hooked me up to much time spent making it for what I paid)

Thank You, I will always have fun in this car, that is until it's power contraints force me to switch over to my 300 permanently or makeme go KA-T with the DE in my back yard...

Thanks For all the responses hopefully more pics and info on that Mirror to come

Love the look, and the fitment overall, even thought the front could use the spacers but I'm not picky because action pics look sik!

I actually like the soft blue color it came out like. Totally different car. Oh and one more thing, You're a JERK!*Sick sticker man. I'd rep one east side.

The fronts wheels (and spacers haha) are just borrowed once I order spacers of my own should sit like the rear all around, also whenever I can get legit tires that match all around.

Lovin the feedback Nico! Still no word on that mirror I was busy yesterday

So you payed $400 for a used CRAP KA? Not good man, at least its fine now. Your new motor still was kind of expensive I think.

If you take close notice I sprayed just enough of the door jams that the red wont show through when the doors are closed I may get in there and remove some panels and spray

The $400 was for a complete motorset Yeah I know still a bit much but there was like an effing drought for KA's when I was looking. My new motor came with a brand new Exedy OEM Clutch so that makes it a really good deal IMO.

My friend who made my brace put a flat peice through the quarter panel and held it covering the hole with a manet then welded them together, filled it then grinded it down, I finished it off with bondo and primer before spraypainting, same technique for trunk.
