Ok guys my build is nearing an end and I have a few questions I can't seem to find straight answers for.

Build specs

Wiseco 9.0:1 pistons
Eagle rods
Minor head work
Top mount manifold with precision 5454e turbo
Godspeed intake manifold
Nismo 740 injectors
Walboro 255 fp

Hp goal 350-400

Ok here's where I'm stuck. I keep hearing that I will need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and don't know what to purchase. Some say the nismo fpr will suffice and some say buy an adjustable one. I'm running stock fuel rail so I'm not sure which option to go with.

What is a good affordable fpr that you guys have used. I refuse to use an eBay universal fpr but can't really afford to convert over to the inline system from Aeromotive. Help!

Also intercooler piping is starting to drive me nuts. I can't decide weather to by an sr kit and make it fit (or if it even works with the iacv) and I really don't want a hack job created from a "universal" eBay kit.

Help would be greatly appriciated!

The nismo fpr's are adjustable. I'm running the nismo b type on my ka-et. Had to upgrade from the oem fpr cause my stock one couldn't handle my 300 lph fuel pump. You'll need to buy and install an inline fuel pressure gauge w/ the nismo fpr though since it doesn't have a built in one like other aftermarket fpr's.

What is ther difference from the type A and type B? What did you do to adapt the type b to your rail?

Has anyone used the Megan unit? I'm going to search but curious if there's any personal on hand experience

Ok I'm thinking about running the Megan unit. I ordered the nismo adapter but looking further into the Megan it looks like it just piggy backs the oem fpr.

Am I looking at this wrong? Wouldn't I run a line from the adapter to the Megan fpr then to my return and the vacuum lines...

I modified my rail so I could fit the Nismo Type-A on the KA fuel rail.
I wrote a small write-up in my thread.

You can also buy an adapter to go on the end of your fuel rail, and run a hose to a Nismo Type-B unit.

No reason to cheap out on fuel. A Tomei Type-S is about 100 bucks at FRsport.
If something fuel related messes up, that's your whole engine down the gutter.

I completely forgot about tomei. Awesome idea. My question now is, the tomei comes with -6an fittings and fpr adapter goes to hose barb, could I change out the -an fittings to hose barbe and use that?

It should come with both AN and barbed fittings.
All my friend's RB25 swaps are running them with the barbed fittings.

Thanks Razi, buddy of mine is running the same regulator.... His came with a wet gauge. They don't sell them with the gauge anymore :/ anyway the item descriptions don't say if it comes with the hose barbe fittings but they aren't expensive. I think I've got the fpr situation under control now....

How about some intercooler piping options???

I have a CXracing kit.
I think they sell a kit for KA-T topmount turbos on eBay, just need to look around.

Razi. I've looked and have seen the top mount kit, 99% sure it's what I will order but the problem I run into is the Godspeed intake manifold. I didn't know if anyone sold a kit for top mount with excessive intake. Also what's the diff from sr top mount kit and ka? Engine size and placement is the same and the sr kit is literally half the price of the "ka" kit. Just looking for some insight before I spend unnecessary money.

You might be able to buy an intercooler kit for SRs with Greddy intake manifolds and have it line up fairly well.
Only thing would be, you'd need to buy or get a new hotpipe made to route to your topmount turbo. You might have to get that done anyways, since different manifolds + turbos can place topmount turbos in many different positions.

If you don't mind white, blue or green as a color you can use one of the lower two links and easily make your own custom tubing. They are flexable PVC. I linked some 2.5" tube because I figured that's the size you'd use. You just get one piece of aluminum or steel pipe in 2.5" OD, cut 2, 4" pieces, one for each end of the PVC tube and this will facilitate a standard 2.5" silicone coupling at the turbo and intercooler. You can do the same for the cold pipe. It makes plumbing your piping wicked easy, PVC also heat soaks far less than any metal.

The only down side is the color. You can fix that with a wrap though.

I believe the 2nd link is good for temps up to 400F. Regardless, the metal inserts in the end keep the pvc from deforming from the heat.
