As long as it is both 5 speeds transmission starters they will work.
I used a junkyard starter from a dual cam when it crapped out I got a reman from oreilys has not let me down yet turns over perfect.

update: engine is in the car.. Still needs to be wired, I'm kinda confused on where to start and since its an s14 ka24de I've read its a real hassle to wire.. Anyone have any advice or know of any diagrams that would be easy for a 17 year old to read? :frown: Lol and I got hired at a hoagie shop started last Sunday and thankfully this is not seasonal work :mike and I make really good money so once I pay back my gma for the engine this pos is gettin some coiovers, a diff, and hopefully a new clutch :yesnod ..I'll post some more pics next time I'm at my moms bc I only have a tablet here and all of them are in my laptop

i got the harness on and it wouldnt even crank so i checked my grounds again and there were a few sketchy ones so i changed en around.. we got it cranking but couldnt get injector pulse/spark but gas is getting to the fuel rail.. we then ran the vin of the ecu and found out its a 96 swap not a 95 so we set the harness back for some modification and when that was all said and done i installed it this past weekend and it still just cranks.. same problem as before, no spark and no injector pulse.. if anyones in the south jersey area i need help really bad bc i have a delivery job and am making no money driving the pathfinder bc it takes so much gas... i need my 240 back!! plz help guys!

not that anyones lookin but since i havent been on here in a while ima sum it up a lil, couldnt figure out this wiring disaster so the 240 sat for about a month or 2 while i saved up some cash to take it to the shop that does all the work on my auto tech teachers race car. the things that hes figuring out about ths car are way way way beyond my knowledge and hes saying that the chase bays harness is indeed not wired correctly even tho we told them our exact situation along with year of the chassis and year of the engine... all that aside i took a ride over to his shop today and he told me he'd most likely have it done by the time i get out of school tomorrow. fingers crossed :mike possibly some pics and a video soon, once it runs ill be ordering some coilovers and rims within a month or 2

long story short, the guy keeps telling me itll be done tomorrow, tomorrow, and yet again tomorrow... but through all of his BSing hes done little by little and got it to turn over for a second and it shut off and he couldnt get it to go again. since then everytime i go there hes messing with it in some way or another so im hoping itll be done soon, he seems to be making good progress with it. :bigthumb:
anyway heres a pic of ol' stella the day we trailered her to the shopImage

ok so the 40 has been at another shop in blackwood called parks auto. some of you may know them (josh lowell and jermy lowell) they pointed me in the right directio and we've aquired all the neccesary obd1 parts to make the obd2 engine run in it and the last part will be here sometime this week so maybe, just maybe, it may be done hopefully soon..josh tells me once i bring him this part he and jeremy will have it done in hours.. and i am going to be selling my h22a cvic for a pretty penny so that means parts for days for the 240..wish me luck boys i need it

You remind me of my old 240. that car was badly wired up from previous owner but i got it hella cheap. i feel your pain i had to rewire the whole car with my dad to get it running properly then sold it. Those were the days. Now im looking for a 240 now lol and its so hard to find one that isnt ratted out. But i guess thats part of the fun i guess

yea i got mine august 1st 2011 for $1200 it ran terrible but we later found out the guy before me had just switched a dizzy to spark plug wire so once we did that it ran perfect for about 2 months until i got a rod knock and decided to park it and start my first project

Cool deal! Working on finding me an s14 and indeed, the search can be very frustrating! The cars are becoming fairly rare to find unmolested but you gotta stay hopeful, there out there. I may potentially be getting one this weekend if all goes well, so I will be posting my 'first' thread here possibly! Anyway, congrats on getting her started man and the engine looks nice by the way. Did you have much trouble pulling the KA for the first time?
