hey guys! i've been lurking your forums for a while now, and after growing up in my dad's 3rd gen q45 and hearing him complain about his newer gen mercedes s-class, i decided to pull the trigger on this 2006 m45, which was a trade in at the scottsdale ferrari dealer

i'm completely in love, and i want to say i'll never purchase another vehicle besides another infiniti

sorry about the night pictures if anyone actually cares haha

so the car has the tech package and this is what rear passengers see behind the arm rest, if i'm wanting to connect my android phone as an mp3 player to the car stereo, is this all i need? http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited- ... 308&sr=1-3

i've read a lot a lot a lot of threads on here, but a lot of them just left me even more confused

with this amazon cable, one side into my phone, and red/white into the matching ports in the car, what happens?

Congrats and welcome!

That is what I'm using. Pulled off the back panel and drilled a hole on the inside for the rca cables to fit through so that I can close the panel. Ran the wire through the arm rest and it comes out on the front. It hides the wires and prevents anybody from kicking the connectors and breaking them... Which I experienced having a small child.

and it works just fine, no problem? you just play a song through your phone and set car to aux or something?

so, pretty much my money won't be wasted ordering this? 100% guarantee it'll play my phone's music right?

One of the best things that I've done for under 5 dollars, second to the air box modification. Just hit the disc button on the dash after you start playing music.
There will be an aux option.
Pandora and Spotify are life savers during my morning and after work commutes.

I actually test drove that car and did like it. I also test drove their black 07 M45 with 78K miles and another Black 06 M45 with 66K miles next door at Certified Benz & Beemer. Kinda funny that there are maybe 4 to 8 M45s for sale in PHX at any given time and there was a nice little cluster there at 68th and McDowell.

That's actually a great idea. Do you happen to have any pics of the process, or what it looks like now?

alright, got it and all installed, i ended up hitting the source or disc button until i got to DVD then i hit AUX

man the system sounds super good, even with bass and treble all the way turned up and it's stock!

i keep the wires wrapped and just hide it between the center console and front passenger seat leading into the cup holder, but your install does sound awesome, like bejjutsu said any pics?

Yeah, it'd be useful to avoid break ins. I always throw my cable in the glove when I'm done. Annoying!! :)

From the back, it just looks as if the panel is closed. You can't open it once the cable is run without taking the entire back off again.
I'll see if i can take pictures, the second time around only took about 15 minutes including the drilling

Yes, please! Pictures would be great. Not that I have people sitting in the back seat very often, but it would really help with my OCD if that panel would remain closed :)

Oh, and Europeenne, I love your car's color.

Here's a picture of what I did.
The entire back panel pops off, the hole was drilled and cut out... not very clean, but nobody will ever see it.
The rca jacks plugged in and the wires ran through the center console to the front.
