So I live in a town house that is across the street from a school baseball field. When they have practice (4 days a week) my spot in front of m house and the rest of the street is completely full. I have to park on the next street over. Now...I wrote the head coach a email about 3 times asking him if he could ask his "parents" to park on only one side of the street and to be considerate of the home owner (who may have kids) and not to park on the "house" side of the street. He replyed with a really really smartass comment talking about how his taxes pay for public streets and all the BS. After getting that reply, I double parked my utility truck (BGE) in front of my house and came in. After practice, the "parent" got in his car and drove up onto the sidewalk and had to put it in drive and reverse like 37 times. IT was nuts. I sat outside in my yard and watched the whole time laughing. What would you guys have done?

I would have called the police and had them tow your truck.

A street is a street. Fair game, legally.

However, on a more personal level, the coach should have been more accommodating. If your job puts you in a residential area, you have an obligation to the homeowners to minimize your impact and presence when possible.

So, I would have done exactly what you did.

They cant tow my truck because its a electric utility truck, Thats why I did it.

I understand the fact that its a "public street". I wasnt asking for them not to park here but to park on the side with the field and to be considerate and leave parking in front of the peoples homes. I dont understand why people have to be a$$hols about it. I asked nicely several times. He replays with a very rude and immature email. I feel like why should I have to park on the next street over when I live here and they are only here for about an hour. In my case I have 2 kids I dont feel like carrying around the block along with my work crap just because these parents dont feel like parking down the street or even in the school parking lot.

Just because they were acting like a$$holes does not give you the legal right to act the same. I'm sure if the coach had called the cops and they determined you were not on a job , you would have been ordered to move it, gotten ticketed, or towed. You are not above the law. And the coach could have easily gone one step further and report your illegal behavior to your superiors.

Instead of being a vigilante, a wiser next step might be to contact the school principal or superintendant and discuss the problem with someone above the coach and request they instruct the parents/coach to use the school parking lot instead of the street during games.

Cardboard cut out of a car in your parking spot. When you get home, move it, and park.

When I used to live near an elementary school, parents used to park in my ditch all the time since there were no shoulders and make huge ruts when trying to get unstuck. And no I did not help push anyone out. Just mow and spray grass all over their cars.

I actually have a similar situation at my condo. One of my neighbors puts two cones directly in front of her door a car lengths apart. No one parks there, no one ever removes them.

I never said I was above the law. If he wanted to call the cops, I have no problems with that at all. That truck NEEDS to be visible to me at all time. Plus Im on call alot and I dont have time to run around the block. I do admit I was being a d!ck but when this coach challenged me I got pi$$ed. I have contacted the DMV and a person in the County Council, I obtained the proper paperwork to have private residential parking signs put up. I believe that what theyre called. I have also sent emails to the principle of the school and also to the person in charge of the teams.

Unless you have diplomatic tags or are actively working at a job site, you're subject to the same traffic laws as everyone else, but nice try. ;) My point is it's unproductive to sink to the coach's level. Since he won't listen to reason, why not go to his bosses? They're in a better position to get him to cooperate than you are.

I would have taunted them mercilessly from the porch. There is legal, than there is considerate. They acted like d!ck so retaliatory d!ck is authorized. If I were your neighbor I would have joined in and burned the cash to buy a denver boot for the car in my spot. f*** them! The last dude to disregard my request not to park in my spot got his s*** keyed. For those about to whine about it, save your breath; I don't care and yes, please escalate it to where I need to dig a hole in the woods. I'll lay low for a year before filling it. Don't start nothin, won't be nothin. Show respect to get respect. Don't show respect, expect to get disrespected. The older I get the more time I will devote to f*** with ***holes.

I wouldnt go as far as keying a car. The car didnt do anything. I also wasnt clamming a parking spot, I just asked for them to simple park on one side of the street only. thats is all. Today when I got home, My spot and thespots in front of my 2 neighbors were empty. Im assuming they got the hint and dont want drama.

After work the other day a guy was flying down the street on a dirt bike and I opened the door on my truck and he slammed right into it. I didnt see him but If i had, Im sure it would have been the same outcome.

I can't blame you for the d!ck move. Is it the "right" thing to do? Of course not. Did it achieve it's desired outcome swiftly and without further incident? Apparently it did.

I see no real issue here, and I would have done something similar myself.

Public areas are public access....

There was a guy infront of my building on the beach who would always be parked in the first spot, and when he wasnt there there was a moped in the spot. I looked a bit closer to find out that when he leaves for work in the morning he rolls the moped back into the spot and when he comes home he pushes the moped to the front of the spot and drives in.

This was unacceptable, I made it known that the gig was up and I knew his plan, and that funtime was over... (methods kept secret to protect the innocent) He then decided he would be like the rest of us and pay for a parking spot in the building.

I understand your position, but most often people are not nice and are willing to go out of their way not to help. Maybe thats just because I am from NY, but 99.8% of the time it has been my experience.

Try cones... Garbage cans... Spend $150 and get a portable basketball hoop and play H.O.R.S.E off their cars?

If you had a fleet of vehicles like me, you could find out where they live and bogart their parking spaces.

I would have done just like you did making them do a 40 something point turn haha. Completely harmless.
