Is this the orange wire needed to fix cold starts?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

I'm a noob, so I wanted to make sure before I cut anything.

I read that there is an orange wire located right near the dash that needs to be wired to the ECU (pin 43?) in order to help crank the car in cold conditions.

Is this the right wire? If not please help.

Also.. exactly what pin is pin 43?

i dont specifically know if THAT is the orange wire you need, cuz god seems to hate me and the devil always finds ways for me NOT to finish my RB swap, my motor still sits on the pallet it came on with the band around it still but theres the ecu pin outs and what all the #'s are

who would like to donate to my mount kit or mouts/xmember fund?

Take your orange one, and splice it into wire "b" on plug "P"

Note that the wire colors are different on the other side of the plug, if you dont have the side of the plug with the yellow blue striped wire, then use the yellow black stripe one on the other side.

If you're wondering where I got those letters from, then check this link out:http://s92978298.onlinehome.us/RB/GTR_plugs.pdf

if you have an s13, just ignore the s14 side and use the rb20det side. I matched it up prettty good using s13 FSM.

Good luck!

vkoslak, I just went outside and checked and I have no idea where those plugs are that you mentioned. Alls i really see are the wires that connect directly to the ECU. Any idea what color wire it is that runs to the ECU?

edit- I think I located pin 43 on the ecu and it is indeed a yellow/black wire running to it, so just splice it into that and i am good to go?

Yeah, that should work. Those plugs are inside the car next to the ecu. Unless your motor importer cut them off.

I believe they did cut them off, I'm pretty sure thats the right wire so I will tap it into that. Thanks
