Basically as the title suggests, is it really THAT simple??? Ive searched the forums and even looked at the FAQ on the HID install without bumper removal and it all looks "relatively easy" minus the bumper removal or nonbumper removal methods.

But my main thing is I'm looking at getting either http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior....html or http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior....html for my A/C. So my questions are, other than basically plug and play, is there anything else I need to do to prep for the HID conversion. AND, which HID kit would you prefer getting??

hid's really are that simple, basically get to your headlight housing, remove the bulb by twisting it out, put the new hid bulb back in, plug everything in and mount your ballast somewhere.

you don't need anything extra for an hid kit unless you want to get a relay harness. a relay harness will draw power directly from the battery rather than from your stock wiring harness which wasn't designed to supply the amount of start up power that hid's require, however the stock harness is usually enough. there have been cases of people with flickering hids or sometime hid's not firing up at first, this is usually remedied by getting a relay harness. aso for recommendations for an hid kit, i'd say go with ddmtuning.com they have good kits and a lot of people including myself have them.

Thanks for the link Black. These are tons cheaper if I'm looking at this right. http://www.ddmtuning.com/index...nt=85 This kit includes everything I need right? Even the bulbs are included and for the price its about $90 cheaper than the V-LEDs one... I dont know, something just doesn't add up. Why so much cheaper?

yeah the kit has everything you need except that optional relay harness i mentioned. don't be fooled by their fancy website, i heat that their warehouse is anything but fancy. i also think that they manufacture them, so you're getting them straight from the production line rather than through a retailer. i have this exact kit for over a year with no issues. just be careful because ddm has a tendency to reverse the wiring on their plugs sometimes, it's a bit of a gamble if you get one wired correctly or not. if you search the forum there are a few threads showing you how to fix the wires, it's easy.

Hmm, reversed wiring... sounds like the QA dept needs a coffee break or maybe 1-2 less coffee breaks

Edit: Awesome! Got the DDM HID Kit ordered. 35W kit with the 6000k bulbs with another set of 6000k bulbs for "backup". Very good price too. Thx again Black for the link!

hey well i finally got around to purchasing an hid kit from ddm tunings website... actual model:

apexcone raptor v2 hid 35W 3000k h11 for the fogs since i already have the stock hid in my ac 3.5

im going to install them without removing the bumper just like when i replaced the fog bulbs with luminics bulbs.

i guess what prompted me finally to buy the kit was one of my luminic fog bulbs burnt out and i was tired of not being able to turn on my yellow fog lights.

i will give an honest to gawd feedback on how easy the install is from 1-10 - since im not that tech savy.

wish me luck
