I've noticed that, with a few exceptions, many of the active posters on the forum are young (from my vantage point). That's fine, of course, and the forum's a great place regardless of age. But a few of us are OLD, like me! This is an invitation to the old men (and women? are there any here? I hope so!) to chime in to let each other know we're not alone. So, if you're 50 or older, I'd appreciate it if you'd respond on this thread, tell us your age, the area where you live, and anything else you'd like to add. And, if you happen to be female, which seems to be a rather unusual attribute on the forum, it would be nice to let us know. As for me, I'm 62(!), live in the Chicago area, and I'm a social worker. As my recent posts show, I'm considering a few modifications, probably starting with a Nismo cat-back exhaust, then some de-badging and re-badging, then probably a Y-pipe and cold air intake.

<-- Not old. But I'd like to chime in and add that "older crowd" is entirely relative. I think the A/C forums would attract as few 50+ users as it would -20 users. Nissan's targeted this car on a particular age group, and it seems to have worked, for the most part.

...not to imply that you shouldn't have bought your car! Glad to have you!

You're not alone. I don't know how many coupe owners on the forum that are 50+, we may be the only 2 :gotme We may have to expand the thread to 40+ :chuckle: I live in the southern MN area, Mankato to be exact. I was the first one with an AC in this town. I want to lower mine but not just springs but coilovers. As far as cars, I've always been an owner of a coupe, except for my 04 Maxima.

Well, if the invitation is extended to members 40 and up, I'll chime in (just turned 41 last month).

I'm also interested in modding, but as a person with more claims on my finances than just my A/C, I have to carefully pick and choose what I can do.

Mind you, should I win the lottery, then all bets are off! I'd turn my A/C into a show on wheels (customised paint job, custom leather interior, fancy lights, the whole ball o'wax) LOL!

48 here. From NY but live in Colorado now. I enjoy the forum for tech help. A few mods: Eibachs, 20's, exhaust and a T-Rex Powder Coated Black Mesh Grille. Just trying to have some fun with it before I give it to my oldest son once he graduates from college.

Thanks to everyone for responding -- and, since one needs to be "market-responsive", over-40 seems to be fine, too. In my case, I've had "comfortable" cars for too long -- in the past 21 years, a Lincoln (130,000 mi.), Olds Aurora V8 (170,000 mi.), and Mercedes E320 (198,000 mi.) -- and I'm having far more fun with this car than I had with any of the others! Whoever Nissan was targeting with this car, the arrow hit me squarely in the chest. In fact, I checked it out in the first place because a friend three years older than me had gotten one the year before (3.5SE) and loved it.

And-- to srwong-- THANK YOU for speaking up for women here!

Another female here...and don't you know you're not supposed to ask a woman her age?? But, let just say I'm over 21 :yesnod I'm in love with my A/C and thanks to this forum, my coupe gets plenty of looks & compliments here in Spokane, Wa, the beautiful Pacific Northwest :)

I guess I am the 1st person over 50 to reply. I am 52 and live in Covington, a suburb of Atlanta. All my previous cars have been coupes. This makes the third black coupe that I have owned. The first two were a 67 Mustang fastback GT and a 87 Thunderbird Turbocoupe. I use my AC primarily to get back and forth to work. That’s why I chose the 2.5. It has been getting 28 to 29 MPG which I am very pleased with. The Altima coupe looks good and is fun to drive. I like the way it handles. I plan to get a C Mod grill, and a Stillen Front spoiler before the end of Summer. I may get the Stillen rear spoiler, unless the ATI trunk deal goes through. I have never left any car that I owned stone stock, can’t see starting now.

Thanks to dflane and turbocoupe for checking in! mmkeller is 55 . . . .so far he's second to me in age here. When my wife asked what's up with my enthusiasm about this car and doing mods, I explained that I'm in my third childhood -- and I'm not planning on stopping with three!

Hello,

I have an '08 black black coupe, 2.5 with auto. I am up in the Rome, Ga. area and the only mods that I have done so far is a rear sway bar and strut bar. My next mods are an intake and an exhaust but I can't decide between the Magnaflow or Stillen. This is my third Nissan and all three have been great cars. I am starting to see more coupes in this area now. My kids and my wife laugh at me becasuse of my age which is 57. They think I need an "old mans" car.

... so, did you explain to your family that the A/C is considerably less expensive (to buy and maintain) than a Ferrari? :chuckle:

Nice to see some fellow fossils on board. I'm also in the 50+ group. No Alti coupe, but I did own an Alti sedan for 9 years before giving it to my son as his first car.
