I've mentioned the Voluntary Service Campaigns on the forum a couple of times and was asked to post more information on them. So, over the past week I've compiled listings and descriptions of all the Voluntary Service Campaigns currently available for our Infiniti M-Series:
What are Infiniti Voluntary Service Campaigns?
Basically, if you M-Series model falls under the campaign scope, you're are allowed to bring your car into the Infiniti dealership and have it fixed at no charge. It doesn't matter if your car is still under warranty or not, as these campaigns apply to all vehicles that fall in the scope of the campaign. Again, EVEN IF YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR WARRANTY COVERAGE PERIOD, THE COST IS STILL COVERED BY INFINITI!
Voluntary Service Campaigns by model year:
2003 Infiniti M45
1. ENGINE SENSORS
-Infiniti has determined that some 2002-2003 model year Infiniti vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. The engine might stop running while being driven if the crank position sensor or cam position sensor fails. This may also result in the “Service Engine Soon” light coming on or reduced engine power. If the engine stops running while driving, this could result in a crash without warning.
-It is the retailer’s responsibility to check Infiniti Net for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary safety recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory.
-The number of vehicles potentially affected is approximately 58,000. Please note that this VSC is also inclusive of other models, therefore this number does not only represent the 2003 Infiniti M45.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety
Act. Infiniti has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 2002-2003 model
year Infiniti vehicles. Our records indicate that you own the Infiniti vehicle identified by the Vehicle Identification
Number on the cover of this notice.
Reason for Recall
On some 2002-2003 model year Infiniti vehicles, there is a possibility that the engine might stop running while
being driven if the crank position sensor fails. This may also result in the “Service Engine Soon” light coming
on or reduced engine power. If the engine stops running while driving, this could result in a crash without
warning.
What Infiniti Will Do
In order to prevent this incident from occurring, your Infiniti dealer will replace the crank position sensors. This
free service should take about one hour to complete, but your Infiniti dealer may require your vehicle for a
longer period of time based upon their work schedule, or parts availability.
What You Should Do
Contact your Infiniti dealer at your earliest convenience in order to arrange an appointment to have your vehicle
repaired. If the “Service Engine Soon” light comes on, contact your dealer as soon as possible to have
your vehicle inspected. Please bring this notice with you when you keep your service appointment.
Instructions have been sent to your Infiniti dealer. If the dealer fails, or is unable to make the necessary repairs
free of charge, you may contact an Infiniti representative toll free at (800) 662-6200. If you reside in Hawaii,
please call 1-808-836-0888. You may also contact the Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration, 400 Seventh Street SW, Washington, D.C. 20590 or call the toll free Safety Hotline at (888)
327-4236.
If you have paid to have a crank position sensor replaced prior to this campaign, you may be eligible for
reimbursement of the related expense. Contact an Infiniti representative at the numbers listed above for
additional information on how to obtain a reimbursement.
Federal law requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the
lessee within ten days.
Thank you for your cooperation. We are indeed sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
2. FRONT SEAT SIDE AIR BAG HARNESS CONNECTOR
-Some Model Year 2003-2005 Q45 and 2003-2004 M45 vehicles may develop increased electrical resistance in the connector for the seat-mounted side air bag due to movement of the connector. If this occurs, the seat- mounted air bag may deactivate and the red air bag warning lamp will illuminate on the dash to warn the driver. To remedy this potential condition, Infiniti is conducting this Voluntary Service Campaign to provide additional stability for the seat-mounted side air bag connector at no charge for parts or labor.
-Dealers are to correct each vehicle falling within the range of this campaign that enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory.
-Refer to Infiniti Net to confirm campaign eligibility. (Only dealerships have access to this)

Infiniti is committed to providing the highest levels of product safety, quality and customer satisfaction. With that in mind, we want to
bring to your attention important information about the seat-mounted side air bag in your M45.
Reason For Campaign
Your M45 is equipped with seat-mounted side air bags. On some Model Year 2003-2004 M45 vehicles, the driver’s side seat-
mounted side air bag could stop working due to a connector issue. If this occurs, a red air bag warning lamp would illuminate on
the dash to warn the driver. If the lamp is ignored, the driver’s side seat-mounted side air bag may not inflate in a crash
What Infiniti Will Do
To assure your continued satisfaction and confidence in your M45, Infiniti will inspect the seat-mounted side air bag in your vehicle
and relocate and secure the connector. This service, free for parts and labor, should take 1 hour to complete, but your Infiniti retailer
may require your vehicle for a longer period of time based upon their work schedule. Please contact your Infiniti retailer to
perform this important service.
What You Should Do
We strongly recommend that you have this service performed as soon as possible (even if the air bag warning lamp in your vehicle is
not illuminated).
Contact your Infiniti retailer at your earliest convenience in order to arrange an appointment to have your vehicle repaired at no charge
to you for parts and labor. Please bring this notice with you when you keep your service appointment. Instructions have been sent to
your Infiniti retailer.
If you have paid to have your side air bag wire harness replaced prior to this service campaign, you may be eligible for reimbursement
of the related expense. If you have additional questions you may contact the National Consumer Affairs Department, Infiniti Division,

-The Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) system installed on some M35/45 models may not work as described in the owner’s manual when operating in the Vehicle-to-Vehicle Distance Control Mode. To ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction, Infiniti is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to re-program the ICC control module to operate as specified in the owner’s manual.
-It is the Infiniti dealer’s responsibility to check Infiniti Net for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this Voluntary Service Campaign (P6207) that enters the service department. The image on the center display screen on the dash may not change when operating the radio, A/C, and/or navigation system controls. To remedy this potential condition, Infiniti is conducting a Service Campaign to inspect the multi-function switch. If a replacement part is necessary, Infiniti will replace the multifunction switch assembly free of charge for parts or labor.

Over time, these nuts may corrode and potentially crack, especially in areas where heavy concentrations of road salt are used. For those vehicles located at dealerships or registered to owners in States that do not use a heavy concentration of road salt, Infiniti is conducting this Voluntary Service Campaign. The service campaign repair entails replacement of the TPMS transmitter nuts at no charge for parts or labor.

Infiniti is committed to providing the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction. With that in
mind, we want to bring to your attention important information about the Navigation, Communication and

Reason For Campaign
Infiniti has become aware of customer concerns with the Navigation System and with Communication and
Entertainment Functions involving the iPhone. To help address these concerns, Infiniti will update the
Navigation and communication software in your vehicle. This software update will address irregularities with
navigational maps, voice recognition commands, phone book transfer from mobile phone to vehicle and
increase the number of entries that can be stored.
In addition, Infiniti is aware of customer complaints regarding compatibility with the iPod Touch. Apple has
addressed this issue, and updated software for the iPod Touch is available on the Apple website in July. Infiniti
has also developed a fix that will also be installed when you bring your vehicle for this service.
What Infiniti Will Do
To assure your continued satisfaction and confidence in your 2010 G37 Sedan, Infiniti will reprogram the

Infiniti has discovered that your model year 2011 M56 is equipped with an improperly functioning on-board diagnostics
