Ok maybe this question is really stupid but i still wanna ask. What is it so hard to legalize a silvia s15? just find a nice one in Japan or Hong Kong for 12000 USD. shipping to here for 1000. Just 13000 total so far. Then buy a ****ed-up s13 240sx in the states that has the same color as the s15's. Register the s13 at DMV. then take out the silvia or spec V emblems and put the 240sx and SE emblems. Use the liscen plate and the vin label (on the windshield) and the vin sticket by the door of the s13's. Whenever u do smog test, put back the stickers on the s13.

does it work????

If you get caught you get in a lot of trouble. What you are proposing is highly illegal, yes people do it, but it is illegal. Never heard of someone using the s13 plate on an s15.

It is just a bad Idea. Swift has written many an essay on this subject. Search and ye shall see.

I've had this idea. It would be awesome, but not if you get caught :/

No, it doesn't work. Try running a search on "VIN swapping" or "importation" and see what comes up. I'm disappointed that another thread like this has sprung up, but I understand why one would.

Since what you ask is:A. covered on many occasions, and the answer could have been found by searching, B. a felony,

This thread should now come to an end.

yeah well here is some interesting news to chew onthere is a guy here in southern california who started a little importing business and has supposedly got the s15 legalized for importation and street use. i talked with him for a little while at the Socal240sx.org bbq in the summer. he brought with him a s15 spec s, r33 gts, and r32 gtr. there was an article on a site which i forgot about which told the story of how he has legalized the car. this should be interesting...

100% BS... I doubt he had the near millions of dollars to legalize the car properly.

His idea of legalizing the car is to import it and do what everyone else plans on doing, VIN swap. Which will lead to customs and the DOT raping you in the end.
