i right now have a complete stock exhaust system. i installed a body kit and the rear bumper has dual exhaust. i want the exhaust to sound more agressive but not annoying. i have seen some you tube vids of just the rear muffler removed with the 2 resanators left in line i think. it sounded nice. but i don'tknow if that messed with back pressure and power was lost. i could just fab pipe from the resanators to the back duals.

the original way i thought was to remove the rear muffler and the 2 resanators. install 2 mufflers (magna Flow??????) and fab pipe out to the back duals. i would like to do it as cheap as possible.i just don't have any extra money to spend. if i leave the resanators will that be okay. what do the resanators do?

any input anyone has for me would be great.

custom mods i did:

painted black drilled rotors F/Rpainted hi temp chevy orange calipers F/RBillet/k&n air intakeground dynamics full body kit5th wheel 18" black rims with polished lip ---- would of went with 20s but they said they wouldn't fitlaptop flange in passenger for laptop standdvd/mp3/navi head unit in dashrockford fosgate 6.5 components in front door panels--- took stock bose box and routed out box to fit 6.5srockford fosgate 6.5 components in rear deckall new wiring for speakerscustom trunk amp board in with 1600 watt audiobahn sub amp / 800 watt audiobahn 4 ch amp 5 Farad audiobahn capacitor inlay rack2 10" audiobahn dub subs in custom side mdf boxesall in charcoal carpet. think i'm gonna redo in black vinal. carpet is kinda boring6 disc sony cd player not installed yet.

if anyone has any trunk pics or ideas please let me know. if i redo i will loose the spare tire and do some fiberglass all over and make it reallt tight and free up some space for luggage and whatnot.

Best performance gain you could get would be to remove all that junk in the trunk. OEM dula exhaust is not a performance robber. You can get louder, just not better performing by more than 2% at best.

Cut out the stock muffler and resinators, install 2 large, "flow" oval 2 1/4" center-offset mufflers in place of the stock resinators, they are a magnaflow knock-off. they cost me $30-$40 each. the magnaflow costs $70-80 or more. then get pipes bent to exit out the tail with buget chrome tips. that is cheap and it works and cops wont bother you as long as you choose rolled or strait cut tips that look stock. I made my own system at work and cost me under $100, but you can take it to an exhaust shop and it should be well under $300 to do this setup if you get everything from them.

it is agressive, but not too loud like just cutting off the stock muffler (did that, it was loud as hell!). Removing the stock muffler doesn't do much with gaining power as it is a strait through design, not baffled. The stock resinators are also strait through to some degree.

axle back system with 2.5" pipes

stock 2" resinator (note, strait through with a pipe that jets out, goes from the exhaust stream to the glass sound dampening material)

2.5" Knock-off flowmaster offset-center replacing stock resinators.

what are the knock offs called? where can i get them. also you said 2.25" pipe with center offset. in the pic it looks like you have side offset on both. i guess whatever works best to fab out the back right. i am going straight back to match up with the cut outs on my body kit so what ever i can do with the less bends possible right?!?!?!

All that counts is how much you improve the measured back pressure between the cats [where O2 sensor is located]. Each 1.0 psi is ~ 2 HP.

Creating your own individual graph vs WOT RPM is the most educational thing you can do.Be sure to allow previous WOT runs to make sure catalyst is as hot as is gets as the honeycomb backpressure changes with temperature.

Be sure to test both banks.
