Yeah, 8 cylinders do feel........comforting.Mr1der wrote:I know the VQ loves to consume oil...
Me thinks you need another Q or M45 though. 8 cylinders or bust!
Definitely! 2nd gen M45 is my vote (2002-2004). V8! -Gas is $2 a gallon here! These M45's seem to be better quality than the Q's of the same years...and the styling has definitely grown on me:Me thinks you need another Q or M45 though. 8 cylinders or bust!

I've strongly considered this as replacement for my Lincoln. So that oil burning issue isn't as relevant in this generation M45?Brew Q wrote:Definitely! 2nd gen M45 is my vote (2002-2004). That's some pretty rational reasoning that puts it in a better perspective. That 03-04 M45 is definitional a timeless beast. It deserves strong consideration. If I were to luck up on that wine red/ maroon whatever color, my buddy would die with envy..lol. I still recall the promotional video where an owner of the M45 daydreams about racing on city streets.elwesso wrote:I wouldn't be that concerned about the oil consumption issue.. There's nothing really wrong with it, if you have to top it off every so often that seems pretty insignificant, because otherwise the drivetrain is SOLID. I don't think it has any bearing on the long term reliability of the engine... Many other cars consume oil and it's considered a non issue.. I would not be scared away by a little oil consumption..
Remember also, people don't come onto online forums saying "my car burns no oil", so typically seeing a lot of posts about oil consumption can be somewhat skewed... It's probably not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, and for sure many people make it a much bigger deal than they should.....
Amen to that. I had an 89 "burgundy pearl" maxima which I believe is the same Nissan color or close (maybe they've revised it).If I were to luck up on that wine red/ maroon whatever color
Not to mention gas is $2 a gallon now! at least down here in Texas. In hindsight the M would have been a good choice
I assume Lucas Oil Stabilizer has long ago been tried to ease the oil issue?elwesso wrote:I wouldn't be that concerned about the oil consumption issue..
