+1 for not wanting to see that.

I feel like your wife would veto that action even if you tried. And for that reason alone, I really like her.

Love this video..

Which of these doesn't belong???

The least powerful car outside of the BRZ is the Porsche 911 at 400hp. Oh.. except the BRZ has 200hp.
The least expensive car outside of the BRZ are the Camaro ZL1 and the Mustang GT500.. both come in around $60k.. The BRZ is $26k.

Yet somehow they consider worth talking about as the best driver's car this year. Pretty sweet!!!

Yeahhhhh, alittle over rated in that clip...

There was one in that deep blue color at the car show last night brought by by workers at the Subaru dealer close by. I finally got to the chance to do a close up walk around. It is just such a sexy car, I mean my god I want one.

long awaited bump..

I'm really hoping spring comes soon. I've got some wheels, tires, lowering springs, gauges, brake lines and a few cosmetics parts to install. I can't wait to get it out of storage.

Full Blown Motorsports in MN just put down 604 whp on E85 at 23 psi. on a STOCK BLOCK.

I need to start saving my pennies.. I'd be thrilled with half that power.. which you can get for about $4500 on a number of different kits.

I got my car out of storage last friday.. put new wheels on already. Have some suspension, brake and cosmetic work to do yet.

I'll post updates soon.

Not going to lie - if/when there is a viable option to boost this car to 300 RWHP I will consider buying one to keep in the garage and play with for a weekend car. That sounds like so much fun. I haven't even driven one yet.
The problem with most car enthusiasts is they have champagne taste on a beer budget, which is an anomaly of itself because they've never actually tasted champagne.

She's really beautiful.
Do us all a favor and leave the traction on if you decide to take a right turn at 20mph and give it a little gas.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that Seth is a better driver than whichever inept tard managed to turn a 20mph throttle steer into an accident. Anyone who manages to foul that up deserves a FWD-only restriction on their driver's license.

I swear, kids these days can't drive for s***. People got buy for more than a century without traction control. Now, suddenly, without it everyone is doomed. It's just like this modern mindset of "Oh it might, snow, I have to have AWD!!!!!" How do people think their parents used to travel to work when it snowed? Magic flying unicorns? Holy DAMN. Electronannies really are training a generation of terrible drivers.

I think TCS and other electronannies should be REQUIRED to come with an OFF button that ACTUALLY WORKS (I am looking at you, Chrysler and Mercedes Benz). Hell, for that matter, I should be able to permanently set OFF as the default mode on all startups. I shouldn't have to disable that crap every time I start the car. The car should need my permission to turn it on in the first place!!!!!
I think ABS should always come with an OFF switch, too. I swear every winter I learn to hate it more. It has never EVER helped me drive more safely, but it sure has managed to undermine my well-trained braking abilities on countless occasions.

Funny thing you mention that MOD.. The BRZ has a way to turn them off, without completely turning them off. If you hold down the trac and vsc buttons at the same time for 5 seconds the system will show both lights off on the dash and for the most part it will feel like it's off. It worked just fine for the autocross at Carlisle last weekend. But they apparently have the system setup to still monitor for extreme g's and spins.. in which case it will actually intervene even though you think it's off. Someone in the BRZ world figured out that you can do a series of brake pedal depressions and ebrake handle to completely turn it off.

On the ABS topic.. I've had some occasions when an over-active ABS system cause much worse stopping ability than I would have had without. I had a Saab for a while.. was following an old pickup with no ABS.. someone ahead of us did a hard stop and caused a series of panic stops.. it was wet and the ABS kicked on in the SAAB and no matter what I tried it would give me almost zero braking.. it was like it thought it was on hockey rink.. Had the tires locked I would have stopped faster.. had the system not been there I would have been able to modulate the braking and stopped even faster than that.. Instead it gave me nearly zero brake and I hit the guy ahead of me. He was shocked that it happened because he told me he had terrible brakes..

I wasn't calling Seth a bad driver. I was trying to convey the "please don't crash your car it's really beautiful and I am living dreams through you." sort of message.
Also, truth be told the guy who did crash the brz used to drive a crx and apparently took the corner many times and would give his crx gas to have a little fun on this specific turn.
I'm guessing he was surprised the rear of the brz spun.
*facepalm*

I don't trust TRC 100% as i've learned it can really put you in a bad situation when your inside tire loses traction in the middle of a turn with an oncoming vehicle at high speed and you need to get out of the way. "NO I DON'T NEED MY POWER CUT NOW."
^ was the only thing I could think, so dropped the clutch to break get a bit of wheelspin and enough momentum to get the f*** out of the way.

It has it's flaws and it has it's perks.
I've had the traction control on, and the rear end broke completely free twice on me, and in doing so the TRC didn't even flash or turn on.
(this however was at low RPM and I am still stumped as to how I even broke traction.)

But In reference to ABS, I've never driven a car without it, so I really wouldn't know how to function without it.
I guess this is one of the drawbacks of being under 20

Yeah, I wasn't giving YOU a hard time. Just the BRZ-wrecker. I love that you mention the CRX being his previous car...I almost said something about him probably being better off with a Civic.

Just a quick word about Seth's BRZ... The car is a brilliant handler, and for an auto-X course it has plenty of power, IMO it's got just the right amount of power that makes it VERY easy to drive smooth... I love the visibility and the space inside the car. If that car had 275-300HP it would be bordering on stupidity (in a fun way :D). I thought the interior was very nice for a car of that price range, it was actually a lot better quality than I expected, and a LOT better than the RX8 I rode in. I reckon that Seth has much better tires on the car than what it came with stock, so that helped tremendously.

My only complaint with the car was I like a thicker steering wheel, but that's purely my subjective opinion.

On my M coupe, there's one button that you press one time (no weird combos or stuff not being completely shut off) and EVERYTHING is off (except ABS). That's the way it should be, IMO.
