Carjackers are going to need lessons if they want to try to steal older cars. I will offer online classes called "the pedal on the left and you, getting to know the clutch." :rotfl

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local ... 90395.html
A man and a woman were saved by their car's manual transmission early Saturday morning as a pair of carjackers were forced to abandon the vehicle.
....
The men attempted to drive away, but soon found that they could not drive a stick shift. The man was ordered out of the trunk at gunpoint and directed to drive the car. The group got as far as the 5600 block of Nanny Burroughs Avenue Northeast before the man jumped out of the moving car and went to contact police.

The carjackers made another crack at driving the car themselves, but couldn't do it, abandoning the car just over the Prince George's County line with the woman still in the trunk. She eventually made her way outside and rendezvoused with police and her friend.
On a side note, much like the ability to actually drive your car, chivalry appears to be waning as well. Bailed out of the car leaving your girl in the trunk? That's messed up. Obviously not a great relationship. Should have done that freaky thing he wanted you to, he might have fought for you girl. :gapteeth:

The thieves probably have never gotten a car above 30mph either. Imagine if they got on 495!

You take your life in your hands. When I visited with my wife and we drove during rush hour across the Cabin John, luckily in the inbound lanes when traffic was heading outbound, she understood finally why Japanese traffic makes me chuckle. Not as bad as LA, but it's like measuring genital warts against syphilis; you should avoid both if possible.

Ahh gotta love Maryland. I mean what would you say? "Get out and drive your dam car to help us get away so rape your girl in front of you before I kill her, then you shortly after!"

I love how many Northern Virginia dwellers seem to think it's related to and contained all to one state somehow. The whole DC/Maryland/Virginia area is full of dipsh*t drivers, living in one state or another doesn't have anything to do with it. NOVA needs to get over it's self.

Never denied NOVA not having bad drivers. We sure as hell do. Like last night at like 1am, 20MPH hitting the brake! in a 45 no one else around. But, I think MD has way worse drivers. Alot cut people off and are complete a-holes about it, cut in line at a backed up exit to save 32 seconds, and most of all speed like no tomorrow. Im sure all places have stupid drivers, but MD have some of the worse IMO. I think its because cops out there give alittle more slack and treat Fairfax County traffic laws in the same way.

Anyways the point of it was far from idiot driver not being able to drive stick. Just the crime, glad no one was hurt tho

You just described everyone on the Beltway, it's not like a majority comes from one state or another. Please stop acting like your state has less or whatever. pfft. You have more people.

Cops slack in Maryland? pffft. That's funny.

Lets build a car with no windows next time and only put computer screens instead of windows. That would be the next logical step, right?

Yeah. When Im going almost 80 and traffic is flying around me at 95 on 95, that tells me that there's much more leniency. It happens all the time and they never get pulled over. I knew a guy from MD that got arrested in VA for going 81 on the highway and he was complaining that he does that everyday in MD and has never gotten pulled for speeding.

:wtf2: That has no relevance to anything at all in this thread, but thats a good idea cuz then we could surf p0rnsites while driving.

Ok fine, the point was that some crazy poop happens IN ALL STATES around the DC area... but more on the east side of DC and MD :gapteeth:

Whatever. You can hold onto your silly ideals that your state is better for whatever psychological reason you need to believe that. I guess you never make it out to Manassas, Woodbridge or Fairfax much. Those are real safe places I hear...

I'm not even from Maryland and I can't see any difference, everyone's an as*hole out there.

And the point about the TV screens is because we're getting rid of manual devices and replacing them with electronic doo-dads, why not go the extra step? Cars would be really safe if we just get rid of the windows, right?

Ive been around (thats what she said), but its just different. I never said VA was better or safe! Maybe only by contrast, but hey quit feeding the fire. I think people need to be more responsible when driving. Its not so much the cars that need to be safer to compensate for driving while texting accidents. But what is my word ganna matter, they want to make cars drive themselves so you can get all pre-gamed on the way to the stadium.

My guess is he did not possess a specific set of skills acquired over the years to take them on himself. :chuckle: Or that she could wait since shes making him wait for "special birthday sex."
