I have the leather power seat up front and I need to find a step by step process to take out that seat. Maybe a photo of the hole thing under the seat?? I need to re-engineer the bottom part of the seat so it tilts flatter towards the front. It currently has a slight incline towards the back of the seat. I do realize now the power seat itself, does not adjust that way. I also have a booklet(not owners manual) that came with the car and it said that the power seat had that type of adjustment with power seats. Well, it does not.. I have back problems. Can anybody out there help me? Peace,Chris

If you mean that the rear of the seat is lower than the front, that you can adjust with the power button... you can raise the rear, but not change the front. It will definately flatten out the seat but put you a bit closer to the ceiling.

If you feel the front is lower than the rear, disregard... can't do anything about that.

Same here... my back is hurting after long rides. I noticed the seats are definitely stiffer than my other cars. I was hoping that maybe cause I didn't choose leather vs the cloth that I would save a few thousand on the option, but turns out your also having the same problem with leather

Ya, the seat can be bad for my back. I did add a seat cushion from Brookstone which helps to flatten out the seat bottom. It's the type that is thinner towards the front and thicker towards the back. Also the part where your tale bone sits is cut out. But I still would like to find a way to re engineer that seat...

I would agree that the seats (I also have leather) are quite firm and make me a little sore during a lengthy drive. My old vehicle had cloth seats, so I figured because my Rogue is brand new, it make take a little while to break in the seats (like leather shoes).

My back can get a sensitive after a long trip; however I have found the adjustable lumbar support on mine to be quite helpful.

I’m hoping one day that the seat bottom will mold to my derrière!

The seats are indeed much firmer than past Nissan's. They remind me of some Volkswagen's I've driven. So far it hasn't posed an issue for me.

Car seats aren't simple chairs anymore, they are an integral part of the safety systems in the vehicle. From a safety standpoint, there are the side impact air bags, seat belt mounting, weight sensors (for dual stage air bags) etc. I don't feel there is a safe way to re-engineer the seat. Modifying the seat mounts or design could seriously affect it's safety.

About the only thing you can do is use the cushion as mentioned. BTW, the manual 6way seat (I have on mine) has seat height adjustment. It appears to raise/lower the entire seat, but no tilt.

BTW, my '03 Altima had seperate front & rear height adjustment so it was possible to tilt the seat cushion on it.

OMG, I'm having the same problem with my front seat. I have manual seats and thought the leather/pwr seats would adjust better but apparently not from reading this discussion. I have a bad lower back and am constantly adjusting my seat to find a good position. I've tried about 6 different cushions, including the wedge with the tailbone cut out, to no avail. I was planning to go to a dealer this weekend to check out a Rogue with leather seats to see if it makes a difference. I'm 5'4" and need to have the front part of seat tilted forward. Unfortunately with the manual seats, the height and lumbar adjustments are combined. I really like the Rogue, but if I can't find some way to make the seats work, I may have to trade it for something else. I spend way too much time in my vehicle to be uncomfortable and in pain.

I had never noticed the height of the front seat from the floor and the noticeable rearward slope of the cushion until I looked at it.

The seat is mounted on a stamped steel frame which is then bolted flat to the floor with 4 TORX bolts. Although there is room underneath the seat, there is no way to lower it short of cutting & welding the frame. This would seriously compromise the safety of the seat.

Here is the page from the FSM. BTW, there are no instructions for disassembling the seat frame itself, just removal of the covering, cushion and plastic pieces.

Wow, I feel the same way.. With the power seat, it is sloped towards the back of the seat and not adjustible. I just might be in the same boat as you.. Might have to get rid of the car sooner rather then later..

I think I may have finally found the right seat cushion that helps with the seat problem. It's called the McCarty's Sacro-Ease, and I bought it at a back store for $125 w/o tax. This was my last resort before trying to trade-in the Rogue. I could feel an immediate difference with this cushion. My seat feels even now, and I have better back support. If all goes well, I'll be keeping my Rogue.

Hmm... This could actually be what I need. I googled this product and looks like there are so many different models. Which one did you buy and what have you noticed? Worth spending?

The tag says McCarty's Sacro-Ease BRSM. It has made a world of difference. This one doesn't have much padding, but it has really helped. I saw a different one in the store with memory foam and more padding that ran around $219. Without the cushion my legs were always higher than my tush, and it was causing a lot of discomfort. I felt like I was sinking down into the seat. I was constantly adjusting the seat to try to find the right position so I wouldn't feel pressure/pain in my thighs, back, & hips. With this cushion, my legs and tush are level, and I'm not adjusting my seat. It is definitely worth it! I'm loving my Rogue again.

Here are some pics I took. It come in tan or grey also. I went back to the store to exchange the one in the pic for one with the memory foam and did not like the memory foam cushion at all. I returned it the same day and got the original one back.

Thank you very much for sharing these photos. Now, I must find a place near me to try this out... Can I ask you why you didn't like the memory foam one?? Also, the seat would be flatter with either one?

You're welcome! With the memory foam cushion, it added about an inch or slightly more than an inch of padding to the seat bottom and seat back. Since I'm short and have my seat pulled forward quite a bit, that extra padding on the back was too much. I was really looking for a cushion that would flatten the seat bottom and not alter the seat back too much. The one in the pic has done that. It's not the softest, mind you, but it's worked the best for me out of all the cushions I've tried so far.
