So today I needed oil change and decided to check out the 10 models. I know some fo you guys already seen it. I was holding my opinion back since the pictures were not exactly what I liked. But let me tell you in person the G just went thru the best changes. The front is supercool. I was worried a little over the fog light. On pictures it looked a little weird but in person just perfect. Also the interior upgrade and the material they used in pair if not better than some of the competitors.

I love it from A to Z.

Now I just have to stay away from the dealer to make sure I won't trade my 08 in for the 10. LOL They know me and already started to bug me with it. C'mon you need a new one etc etc. LOL

Sorry for another useless post just had to get this out of me.

Nah I'll wait till the 3rd gen shows up. But the temptation is big. LOL There is no real reason to get rid of my 08. I like it. But the 10 is just cool. Glad Infiniti is heading to the right way.

zozo, I wasn't quite as impressed as you were with the changes.I think you just got bit by the new-car-bug!!! (also, if we run out of prem. again, you can chug along on reg where as the 37's have to stay parked.)

Sorry Telcoman! I know you are passionate about your Regular gas, but the G37 Owners Manual is different from your 2006 G35 Sedan Owners Manual.

It says you CAN use regular temporarily IF you fill up with PREMIUM as soon as possible AND avoid full throttle AND sudden excelleration. Yeah, that sounds like fun!!!

If you read the 2008 G35 Sedan Owners Manual, it reads the same as YOUR 2006 G35 Sedan Owners Manual.

So, for anybody reading Telcoman's comment above, please read the G37 Sedan Owners Manual for yourself!!! (PDF versions are available on the internet for your viewing pleasure)I'm not going to debate Telcoman's comments any further.

That would make it easier to sell.

Don't forget your car will be a year older at the end of December so probably you'll get less money out of it. Also I am 100% sure you would get a better deal now than you would get at the end of the year. Just shop around.

I have to agree with you on the new 10 models. I saw it when I was getting my oil changed and damn...I don't know but doesn't the front look a lot more aggressive? And the interior...Don't get me started. I saw it with I think the blue slate with the black interior...All I could do was just sit there and pretend it was my own.

I dunno. While I like them I didn't like the way they mounted the fogs as the surrounds looked pretty cheap.

I'm picking up my 2010 G37x early next week and will post pictures. I considered trying to find a 2009, but wanted to customize it, and love the changes they made between 2009 and 2010.

Yeah looking forward to see the new one. Hope they improve the look, fit and finish even more.

They used lot more softer materials in the 2010. Only thing I found a little weird is the doors need to be shut harder to close and the info screen did not display all the functions at the same time. Not sure if the 09 does it but the 2010 does not. On my G you can hit the status buttom few times and get to the screen where it can show the milage left with fuel consumption the temperature and the audio setting. On the 10 it showed only 2 out of 3 not all 3. But these are minor changes I noriced when I had the 2010 for 2 days. The rest is much more improved.

Love the new transmission too. Supercool.

On a serious note I should be thankful to be able to have a financially stable life. Good paying job what I actually like a loving family to go home and of course the G to go home with.

I won't change my G for now. I think next year my wife Foci will be out of the driveway and get maybe the new Fiesta RS. 1.6T Than maybe a year after. I actually looking forward to se if they bring 2.0 turbo Foci rs maybe AWD. If that happenes well maybe.....

zozo......

anyway!!

HERE IS MY REVIEW OF THE NEW 2010 G37X

while its still fresh in my mind...

the outside love it! the front, the back, new mirrors need to get used to they are narrow but longer. but i think its also for the better.

the stock wheels with the plastic rubbermaid garbage can valve stems. not a big concern for me since they would be UPgraged asap, but still.

inside. gauges hate them. the red and blue soo much nicer in the 35 than the 37 with the white and blue. too plain and idk just not a fan. really dislike that.

the new aluminum finish its nice but i think i would still prefer the washi. really different with the swirls and whatever for the washi, where the aluminum just looks like aluminum. looks like the stick on upgrade some people do, or even the wood grain stick on things.

the lower center instrument console is awesome, the heated seats knobs love those instead of the big switches i have. the arm rest has a push button for it also really cool. the dealer one already had scratches on it. but deff an upgrade. the ash tray and shift knob for some reason look more intact and idk just better for some reason in the 37.

i noticed the door pillars with the window switches is upgraded i love that mine is so scratched from my watch i dont see this one getting scratched at all so thats a plus.

now to the good stuff.

really weird transmission LOL. no really 7 gears took some time getting used to. especially with the low redline compared to mine and kept hitting limiter non stop. i dont think it even goes to red line. i remember when stock i was able to go just a tad bit over the first red line and here its a tad bit before the line. so that was different.

took it on the highway. the 7 gears will save u $$$$$$$$ gas kept staying at 19mpg. with heavy accelerations and also having it in 7th at 90mph flooring it the mpg user gauge didnt go all the way to 0. stayed at about 8-9mpg. where no matter what speed or gear im in with my 5at soon as i gas it 0mpg.

i really dont see any use for the 7th gear. like really just annoying. acceleration in 7th gear was equal to a 49cc moped. even at 60mph it takes forever to get to 65.

honestly it just being there i guess, because even cruising speed on the highway 6th gear is enough and the only thing that my 35 is missing. and i hate infiniti for it. there is no over drive in mine constant high revs even at highway speed limit.

downshifting to pass someone out or speed up on the highway makes the 7th gear also annoying someone like me driving in M mode all the time now its not 1 not 2 but 3 clicks to be able to pick up some speed to accelerate just troublesome and takes too long. so i kept cruising in 6th and then 2 clicks brings me to 4th where some power is made.

i really like the actual sound the shifter makes. it clicks shifting up and or down that is soo cool. now the stupid thing beeps when you try to up shift and its too soon. thats annoying. no need for infiniti to tell me im a dumbass to i cant up shift. many times when i drive just cruising through the city accelerating slowly and just would click the shifter up once every couple seconds and then be up at 40 and already in 5th and all set. here a fraction of a second too early, BEEEEEEP.

the exhaust note is louder than stock 35. i like it, sounds more like the coupe sound which we all here love. the engine also roars a bit more than stock mostly because of the higher displacement almost 4 liters in a 6 thats what im talking about.

now for acceleration. it is faster than the 35. if you disagree with that then you are just a DEE DE deee. 30 more hp has to be faster with the same body no matter what. however ready....not faster than mine. unfortunately put all the $$ i put in mine to the 37 and umm, there is no car in the brice range thats keeping up.

0-60 is faster not as fast as mine but still. 60-100 is faster once again not as fast as mine. stock 35 died at about 110mph mostly because of the 130mph limiter. this one pulls all the way to 120 just like the 35 did to 110. which would make no difference in the 1/4mile but definitely an upgrade.

the 37 after 120 just like mine even now dies. its still going but its like a parachute was pulled. i havent got to 130 to see if there is also a limiter. thats to be updated soon.

cruising in town in 7th at 45 going up a hill the car actually slowed down while floored. once again i dont see the point of 7th but its cool.

the stock stereo is better it was the non bose edition and the 35 one always cracked crinkled and sounded horrible here not good but was sure there is a improvement.

there i think im done. for now.

Yes, it is faster then the G35...but in a few years (maybe '11) it will get another bump to 350hp...I really wish they had an option for the twin turbo GTR engine, or a V8. Make it the M3 of Infiniti.

Right now, I'm pricing stereo/tint stuff...should have some upgrades soon

I agree on most point with you Suby. On the 7 speed. Not everybody like us. Some people like MPG. 7th speed is giving you another 1-2 mpg on HWY for sure.

I liked the gearing a lot. Even in manual shifting it kept it in the right gear when you hit the brake.

The ashtray is kind of weird in the way. Easier to reach on the 35. But everything else is superb. Not sure if you tested the softness of the materials. Around the center console it is softer than the 35.

Wheels well I like the 35 better but I think it just takes some time to get used to it or upgrade to a nicer one.

Joe you already upgrading? LOL You don't waste time lol

Suby, and zozothe 7spd transmission has 2 overdrives. the 5spd was 4th direct drive, 5th .79 ratiothe new one is 5th direct drive, 6th low overdrive (.86 I think) and 7th high overdrive (.77) 7th is best for 70mph+ cruising. Below that, it'll shift to 6th for passing or 4th for fast passing. And the limiter is set to 140 on the 5 spd auto. 145 on the 7 speed. And the rev limiter in the 3.5 motor is 7700, redline 7500. The 3.7 can't rev that high, so its set at 7500 and 7500. But you only need to rev that high in 1st. Peak HP is 7000 and peak torque is at 5000, so shifting between 7200 and 7300 is ideal when in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th.
