As you can tell I'm not done, I still have to trim down the wood, and the edges of the Ac controller the make it fit right. Tell me what you think... :woot:

Ps, my brother played a joke on me, and put a s*** load of trash in my car while i was sleep...

whats the purpose of butchering the dash to shove a tv screen in there? Television is for living rooms, not dashboards!!!

I am sure the VI PP crowd would think it is really cool?

Don't let the naysayers get you down. You'll figure out who they are pretty quick.

Your mod looks great. It's not something I would do (kids are grown) but if it suits your needs more power to you. Complete the trim properly and the finished product will look great. You'll probably find more NICO love in the Audio & Security forum.

Shoulnt little kids be in the BACK seats for safety reasons???? Seems TV, video games and binkys would also be located there?

I think NICO has aged me too fast because back in the day I would actually want a similar setup. Truth be told I want a Carputer but its too costly and dangerous to drive with and the risk of theft is also high.

And don't worry my car is a mess too. :)

I actually see a great deal of value in this if the upper slot was being used for a double-din navigation unit. Getting it higher on the dash makes it easier to view without looking down as far.

Most states restrict a screen for other uses within the driver's view while the vehicle is moving.

I would love to just swap the upper and lower slots, so that the radio was up higher with the climate controller below it - but I haven't figured out how to keep the bezel looking factory with that kind of setup.

Because he wanted too! He paid for his car so he can do whatever he likes IMO. Great work to the original poster. I had a double din TV installed in my car but took it out after it wouldn't read DVD's anymore. My daughter loved looking at it during trips.

I've been considering something like that. I'd love to get a screen that also has a PC input. I could display my wideband O2 system gauges, the consult gauge display, data logging, and real time ECU programming. Looking good, a little more refinement and it will be really nice. Thanks for sharing.

Looks good. I want to do almost the same thing. I want to put in a double din navi with a separate eq at the bottom just like where your radio is at.. Good job !!!! just have to finish up the look of the AC

i'm don't object to it on principal, but i really don't see what you've accomplished here. execution and component selection are weak.

a quality double din would have made the 3rd spot obsolete and been much cleaner, even if you decided to swap the headunit and ac.

a similar setup to what you have done could have been useful with a monitorless dvd headunit, such as the alpine 9965 (chosen for it's tuning capabilities, since there are no dd in the u.s. that have active crossovers), and a stand alone monitor. even then it would look better to relocate the acc to a hidden area such as the glove box.

but i'll give you an "e" for effort.

I was thinking that would be awesome, i would love to have that because I think it would clutter the nice interior of the Q with a bunch of gauges... Not to mention, I dont really care about all those "vitals" all the time...

Anyway, to the OP the upper screen fits in there really good, Im impressed.. The bottom portion still needs work IMO but im sure it will turn out great... A double DIN might have been a little cleaner, but I can appreciate the effort to get this far...

To all the debbie-downers in this thread, this ain't your car and you dont have to drive it... Oh and BTW, I have a 1999 G20 head unit and STOCK BOSE, SO FEAR MY SETUP!!!!

way to take constructive criticism buddy. please refrain from the use of the word "haters" since it implies envy. i can assure you i am in no way jealous of your equipment or install.

my audio is completely stripped, as is most of my car, but i'll be happy to give you a sneak preview:

carpc
msi fuzzy gm965 motherboard
intel c2d 2.1ghz cpu
2gb memory

audio
(2) tru s500 amplifiers
dynaudio md130 tweeters
dynaudio x280 crossovers
dynaudio mw180 woofers

i'm sure you've never heard of any of this stuff (hint: they don't sell it at the flea market) but do a little research and you'll see for yourself. i still need a few more pieces but right now i'm tapped from buying a president conversion and 19" carlsson wheels. feel free to check out my build log in the vip section for updates.

Funny that in your first post when starting this thread you asked for others opinions - "tell me what do you think" and now you cant handle their opinions?????? What, you only want positive responses to VALIDATE your accomplishments????? The world does not work that way.

Nice post up a picture of ECU talk, Blazt.biz or Scan Tech Nissan working. I think the screen may be a bit small but thats me. I hope it looks like the new GTR setup though.
