so the other day while helping my two friends swap their springs and coils, they all talked me into the brilliant idea of cutting springs since im low on cash :ohno: , i was perfectly fine with my decision until i got home and tried to go to sleep until i started thinking about the consequences of what i did and didnt sleep the whole night. So now i got a few questions,
1.what r some of the things that might go wrong since i cut the springs?
2.should i keep riding on the cut springs until tein makes springs for the 2.5?
3.should i say f*** it and buy eibach?

i feel like ill get hell for cutting em in the first place lol

I say keep riding the cut spring and consider it as a "long term" experiment. :chuckle:

Man, yeah thats f***. Never do that, you can accidentally crack the spring and you wont see it. Go froa drive, spring collapses and you're in the ditch or worse. FAIL. lol. Slap you dumb a** friends... and yourself lol :P.

Only way to make the story better is if you did it with a Dremel, without even removing the springs. Knew a G2 Integra guy in college that did that. Hilarious to see. He was so excited, he didnt notice that they settled differently on each corner, despite his "precise" method. On a side note, same guy under-steered his car into a mtn side while showing us how awesome his drag skills translated to a twisty 3rd gear road.

I agree with above, all the civic and n/a mr2 guys that did that back in the day "looked" good until you saw them bouncing down the road due to a total loss of compression ratios. Sounds like youre replacing soon, so kudos. Lesson Learned, and at least you came here to ask for advice, even if it was post-facto. May have saved yourself a drive into a ditch, pole, oncoming car, etc.
