no i chose the green cause it was different and at the time i havent seen anybody with that color...it is very rare. I could have got a black or silver...but i guess i felt like being different that day....sometimes i wish i had got black though....it just seems so much more i would have done....plus i dont think the clear lights would look good with green

I didn't think I'd like that color when I saw it on Infiniti's web site, but seeing on the car it does look quite good. Very unique. That and the Garnet Fire red color both really make the car stand out. The grill looks good too.

Quick How-to:

I got the paint from http://www.etouchup.com/ but there are numerous sites that sell the factory paint. This site seemed like it sold quality paint and a quality clear coat. some of the other sites on the internet seem like there paint maybe like Wal-mart quality cheap!!! Some sites you have to know your paint code (see below)

AY2 Garnet Fire Met Exterior D10 Emerald Mist Met Exterior EY0 Golden Sand Met Exterior KH3 Super Black Exterior KY0 Chrome Silver Met Exterior QX1 Glacier Prl Exterior WV2 Gray Met Exterior

Clean the surface maybe sand if rough, i sanded mine lightly, primer, dry 15 minutes in sun (SC sun right now still 92F) make sure low humidity. Then base coat very lightly I did 1 coat every like 2 minutes, i did like 10 coats all around, let dry for 1 hour then clear coat like 10 coats 1 coat every 2 minutes, let dry all night...reintsall in morning!! It is glossy and almost as glossy as the OEM paint on the car if you do it right and dont get impaitent!!!

Oh and have some emblem glue to put the Infiniti Emblem back on, it pops off something like a very carefully placed very flat screwdriver

Have fun post picks

So you pop off the emblem with a screwdriver? Do you need to heat the glue before you take it off like other emblems? Also, you mention emblem glue, is there a product specifically made to use for emblems?Your grille looks really good in that color. Thanks for the info.

No heating necessary for mine, just carefully work the screwdriver around the emblem and clean off the old stuff

I say keep it chrome it makes it standout against the body
akliquid wrote:Also, you mention emblem glue,
I usually use silicon but i found a emblem glue in Autozone and it work very well...it was clear and not to thick or thin

Have fun, Happy Painting

That is a cool idea, I have a 06 M45, Ivory pearl that I would like to paint the grill to match. I attempted to go to the website that you posted, however when I go to the check out they request me to log in after I have given them my oem paint #. Do you have another place to purchase the paint. Secondly does this paint come in a spray can and was the grill difficult to remove.

Let me know how the paint holds up under use. I had mine done at a body shop which used the same paint and clearcoat thats on the body. Did you guys sand or sandblast the grill before it was painted?I have been very happy with mine, even my wife thinks it should have come from the factory painted.

I got my grill painted at the dealership I use to work at(Nissan). Ususally if you go to were the bodyshop is and slip the painter some mula, they'll hook it up for you. My grill took abput 2 hours to complete from start to booth dry. The grill is really easy to remove its a total of 6-7 pop screws, all you will need is a screwdriver. The whole removal took about 1 min 30 sec..... literally. GOOD LUCK!!

Personally, I think your car looks great with the oem grill because of the exterior color of your car. The chrome and silver accent each other. Keep thinkin on it..
