I know the Z31 doesnt have a hub assembly but instead a spindle and the rotors have the wheel studs and hub embedded in it with a inner and outter bearing. I know I am going to need new rotors and pads soon but who sells rotors and pads for these cars and its OEM setup. I know places like auto zone and advanced seem to have a hard time getting parts for this car. But is there a after market hub assembly conversion for a modern setup where you can put the rotors on and take them off with out having to take the spindle nut off and deal with lthe outer bearing falling out of its place???

There is no spindle conversion that will work properly, and you should be glad, wet bearings are a lot less trouble than sealed/dry bearings like the majority of newer cars use, you can keep cleaning and repacking indefinitely, besides they are cheap...

The rotors should be available at autozone provided they don't cross-reference the models/years wrong, have you tried asking? Have you tried rockauto or any online parts houses?

YOu must have an 84-86 model, I believe the 87-89 all used slip on rotors, you can swap over the complete hubs and rotors but you'll need matching callipers and the 87-89 only had 5 lugs so if you have an 84-85 n/a you'd need new wheels and then you'd want to swap out the stub axles in the rear as well. it's easier to keep it stock unless you want to go crazy with mods.

I have a 87. Just was curious about a more modern hub assembly conversion. Now you would have to press out the hub assembly from the rotors?

87-89 TURBO used slip on rotors, the 84-89 NON-TURBO all used bolt on, only changes being 4 or 5 lug depending model/year

If you have a non-turbo 87, then you have 2 options really, you can find/buy some 87-98T hubs/rotors/calipers and install that in place of yours, OR if you want a serious upgrade, you can opt for my BBK specifically made for those bolt-on hubs

It converts the bolt-on hubs of any year to a new 2-piece slip on style rotor, which is significantly larger but doesn't weigh any more :)
