How to remove steering wheel wood trim

Does anybody know if it's possible to remove the wood trim pieces from a 2002-2004 QX4/Pathfinder steering wheel and how?



I'd like to re-wrap the wood trim pieces in a 3M vinyl, but take them off this time so I can properly wrap the pieces instead of just cutting it at the edge. They are single pieces that are only on the front of the wheel instead of being a solid piece like the 01s so I'm guessing they can be snapped/pulled off, but I don't want to force it and risk ruining the wheel.
