hey bro i fell your pain, and i talked to guys that do custom piping for exhausts and they said its not worth the expense. also the performance is definately lost when you do that.

Not happening. The bends in the axle back part of the exhaust are what totally kill any kind of possibility.

I'm going to be the black sheep for this thread and say that it shouldn't be that hard.

This link shows that 2 seater and 2+2 use the same front pipes and H pipeassy's.

given that, the major difference is the piping to the mufflers. the 2+2 needsmore/longer pipes to make up for the extra chassie length.

any competent muffler shop should be able to cut behind the last flange joint and extend/bend as needed, to make a nice fit.

I have had a complete exhaust from headers back with a functional H pipe aftermarket turbo muflers in stock location and tail pipes up over the solidaxel housing and out the back fabricated from staight pipe in less than 4 hours on a 1969 mercury cougar.

I also think that trying to modify a 2+2 system to fit a 2 seater would be a lot more difficult. because of the tighter bends required.

thats my opinion based on 30 years of driving and working on cars, I bought a brand new car once let's see ya it was 1988.

impossible given the path the rear sections take... would cost you more than a custom welded setup (or close to it) to modify...

The gas tank placement is what causes the difference in bends between the 2+2 and the 2+0. It's not just the length.

I would say thatit would probably sound different because of the difference in length. The muffler may be the same but the longer pipes would change the vibrations and put out most likely a deeper note. Just think of it like one of those huge organs in european churchs. Bigger and longer pipes equal deeper notes.

Not only that, but the 2+0 piping is straight as can be, where as on the 2+2 there would be a good amount of bends causing it to sound slightly different. It'll sound similar, but not the same.
