Hi, and thanks for a great guide :)

Is the guide still up to date?

I have a sr20det 2.2L hks 550hp 610nm running 8200 rpm.

I broke a valve guide so now it's time to make a new head.

I'm gonna change the valves and valve guides too. Which ones is the best? I can see that mazworks sells some 6mm exhaust valves that seems nice.

Best regards

I just read through the whole guide and it looks up to date to me, aside from a few broken pictures.

One thing I found odd is that Nissan (according to the article) specs the same cam clearance for both intake and exhaust. Typically, exhaust side has a bit more clearance, simply because that's the hotter side, and when things heat up, they expand (so you'll eat up more clearance).

Might want to double check that against the factory service manual to make sure you get the shim sizes correct.

Ok thanks alot. I will use the supertech 90lb springs and supertech retainers as I'm gonna buy most of it at mazworx and they have those.

Best regards

I run supertech springs and retainers with Ferrea +1mm valves and supertech bronze valve guides. I've been pretty happy with it, and I push mine to 8500rpm on the track with no issues thus far. I highly recommend doing the WPC treatment on the valvetrain parts, it really cuts down on the friction, which helps the longevity of the valvetrain parts.

Whatever you do, stay away from the BC stuff.

Flame suit engaged... ha ha

You should be able to, I know a certain German transmission manufacturer does WPC treatment to their factory parts, so the process exists in Europe.
