I ran into that exact issue where the OEM sport alloys could not mount with any spacers less than 25mm because the OEM lugs would hit the backside of the wheels hub. Everyone on the "M35, M45, M37, M56 Fuga Enthusiast" FB Page made it sound like i had knock off alloys. LOL

One thing I would add to your awesome write up is that they should hang tighten each lug with a minimum of 8 revolutions (per H&R recommendations) to make sure the lugnuts have enough bite on the thread to ensure it's mounted properly.

Yeah not all OEM sport wheels have the cut outs on the back for some reason. I think some of the discussions may have narrowed it down to 2013+ does not but 2011/12 did have cut outs. It's frustrating though.
