To heck with the fact is was 34 degrees and sleeting like crazy. We are away from the scum cars and buggies! I liked that G. Windows were tinted perfect and they had chromed the rims. Looked good.

I've found it doesn't matter...people will park next to you anyway. Just don't park close to the cart collection points!

I've been relatively lucky (and I do at times park next to the corrals unless they are full) as I don't have a single ding (yet). In the 7 years of owning the Maxima I only had 1.

I always park as far away as possible. I'm usually one of 5 cars on the far back row. I don't mind walking that far. Just to keep doors and carts and dummies from crashing my car....

I don't mind walking either. I usually park my G (or my 3) at least five, sometimes up to ten spaces from the nearest car. Oddly, a few times a year, someone will still park right next to me. I think they do it on purpose just to be balloon knots.

One way to solve the problem at Wal-Mart...don't go to Wal-Mart.

I park next to other Infiniti's or another nice car... I figure they don't want a door ding any more then I do.

I have a few door dings... guess some of them were leases?

It doesn't matter where you park. My friend parks his Maxima by itself away from all other cars/car corrals/etc and all it did was give someone ample running room to smash a cart into his front fender, right at the wheel well.

$400 later and his car is almost exactly as it was before the incident. Way to go jealous Walmart losers, you've proved to everyone how cool you really are.

l hate Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, the current economic situation is forcing me to do a lot of things I don't like to do.

Once my family and I were walking into a Target. Way above it on a hill is a grocery store. There was a BMW parked way far away from the Target. There was a buggy FLYING down the hill right towards the BMW. My daughter, who was fast as lightning, ran after the buggy but she couldn't beat it. It hit the Beamer and it hit it hard. Buggy went flying up in the air. Allison went over to look at what it did and I told her to get away. That was all I needed was the owner to come out and think Allison had done it!!

I'll make comments to people about leaving the carts out. They just look at me like I'm interrupting their day and leave.

In Phoenix they shoot at you then leave. No one does the right thing anymore.

It's the "why should I care about you" deal. Others simply feel if you can afford a nice car then you can afford to fix it too.

At the walmart close to me, I see everything from crusty little h0nd@ cars to Mercedes S class and Bmw and my own G, theres everything from old and busted to new and expensive. Of course, the walmart itself is on the same street as a rich upper class neighboorhood, but down the street from the ghetto

I had to share this....just last evening after picking up my wife from the bus stop we made a quick stop at maxi (equivalent of walmart in canada). My wife walked in for a quick shopping and i sat in the car with my eyes closed and waited in the parking lot listening to my fav music in the crappy Bose system.

Even though i was away from the crowd, a Honda CRV pulled up to my right, the lady opened the door and BOOOOM i hear a noise...and i was like..WTF ...I literally jumped out of my seat and the lady got out and i could see that she was terrified at what she'd done.

Thankfully no dings...just a little scratch...that is not even seen very clearly.

I shook my head in disbelief that with soo many open parking spots she had to pull right next to me and hit the passenger side front door.

s*** happens...and we really cannot stop it

Parking out in isolation can backfire, however.

My wife has had her Audi keyed TWICE after parking it way far away. I think jealous a-holes think "look at this stuck up person who thinks their car is so special" and then key it.

Now, we both do what another poster mentioned - look for other luxury cars to park next to. Mutually assured protection!

maxi? In honduras, Walmart is called Maxi Bodega. Its actually owned by walmart. Its like a supermarket/dollar store/liquor store/offbrand clothing store hybrid...
