May be a dumb question..but I can not figure out how to get to the air filter on my '03 g35. Tried searching here and web, all I get is cabin filter change. It's got to be simple right? I just can't get to it.

If its the same as the 2006, there's a few metal clips that you have to pop and the plastic cover comes out, swap filters, put the cover back on and do the clips.

03-07 coupes have the same intake track. Look for metal clips holding the filter.

I found metal clips, and undid them..buts thats as far as i got. The housing around the filter is attached in front to a tube that runs along radiator, in the rear attached to intake to engine. There is a little dial in front of filter, just to the right that says 'lock' 'unlock' and I turned it, but cant see that anything locked or unlocked.frustrating, something this simple, i've done all my life on other cars and i just can not figure it out.

The air box is made up of 2 pieces, one connected to the MAF and intake tube and the other has the yellow sticker on it. Popping the clips (3 I believe) will allow you to pull the part with the yellow sticker on it away from everything else. That'll give you access to the filter. You may have to play around with it a little bit to get it out but it'll come out. Don't worry about the lock/unlock knob.

I have a 2006 G35 Sedan 6sp manual and the air filter is quite easy to change.1-Remove the Air Duct Inlet by poping up the two fasteners holding down.2- Disconnect the harness connector from the Mass Air flow Sensor3-Loosen clamp bolt on Air Hose4- Remove the 4 10mm bolts on the rear of the Air Cleaner Case5- Unfasten clips from Air Cleaner Case, Remove old Air Filter & replace with new one.6- Refasten clips, replace 4 10mm bolts, retighten clamp bolt on hose, & replace harness connector on MAF7- Open Beer & congratulate yourself on a job well done

If you intend on doing some work on your vehicle, my advise is to spring for the Shop Manual.
