I have a 1999 Infiniti QX4 and the brakes feel spongy and I read that you have to bench bleed the brakes. How do I do this?

"Bench bleeding" refers to a procedure performed on the master cylinder when it has been removed. The "bench" part refers to the procedure (usually performed with the unit held in a bench vise) whereby you fill the unit with fresh fluid and have a hose connected to the outlet that feeds directly back into the reservoir. You keep pumping the MC piston by hand until the fluid reservoir is full and no air bubbles appear at the surface. This ensures that there are no air bubbles in the MC before you install it. Have you removed or replaced the MC recently?
