Im fairly new to the 240 scene (bought my first last fall). I have a 98 base model. I imported a redtop and dropped it in (not literally). So its a 98 with a redtop swap. My question is, my seibon hood (Kouki i think) hits the top of the valve cover :/ . I have megan racing motor mounts. Please don't post the obvious like is the engine sitting in right because i have checked and its sitting in the notches and bolted in. When i look at the valve cover from the side from over the fenders, theres about an inch sticking over. Need some input if this has ever happened to any of you or if I start chopping up that beautiful carbon fiber haha.

Btw it has zenki fenders (maybe thats it? shouldnt be)

if you have a 98 240sx with a kouki hood and zenki fenders then the hood WILL hit the fenders... post some pictures of yur car.... ive tried to put a kouki hood and zenki fenders on my car and the hood wouldnt close because its wider then the zenki fenders and closes on top of the fenders so it would close all the way....

yeah that part sounds a little weird. you said you have aftermarket motor mounts correct? also you have a redtop sr20? if im not mistaken, the redtop sr20 is from an S13, and you put it in an S14? so maybe the motor mounts you got were made for an S13 and they sit a little higher then the S14 mounts, also maybe the engine (being from an S13) just happens to sit higher?

Hard rubber mounts are known to force the motor to sit high. I've put plenty of S13 SRs in S14s with stock motor mounts, and haven't had clearance issues, so that shouldn't be your problem.. Do a search looking for clearance issues with Nismo motor mounts, and you should find some feedback that can help you. I did a google search on the MR mounts and didn't really return much on a quick cursory glance.

Another issue is Megan Racing's quality control is very spotty, so you might be running into an issue there.

Did you install the trans mount too? It should sit a bit higher than the old mount, which would flatten the motor out. If you have the factory mount on, it'll be lower causing to motor to sit at an angle with the front up higher.

I did some "digging" and found that my mounts are on backwards -_- I hope this resolves the issue so I didn't just waste 200... oh well you live and learn I guess. Thanks for your input guys
