Well got the idea from the other lip thread and the links to the other forums.

MATERIALS:

Image

-16 screws no longer than 1 inch. I only bought 8 =\.
-Garage door bottom seal. There's 2 kinds, foam and hard rubber. I got foam because it was the only kind they had and some guy on the other forum said he preferred it. Need about 9 feet.
-3m double sided heavy duty tape. I only bought 5 feet which is why in some of the pictures it looks white because I had to go to a store near by and they didnt have the same kind. I recommend at least 7 feet.

You'll also need a drill and a drill bit smaller than your screw which is the way I did it. Works best that way. Or you can punch holes and use zip ties.

STEP 1: Clean the bumper. I used windex or something I dont remember. Alcohol works well. Make sure the whole bottom side is nice and clean.

STEP 2: Place the tape on the rubber.

Be careful when you're measuring the rubber and make sure you use more than you think you'll need. I roughly measured it by putting it on the bumper and only had half an inch left after it was on lol.

STEP 3: CAREFULLY put it on the bumper. This stuff does not like coming off so make sure you do it perfectly. I rushed so it looks a little wonky but oh well.

Image

STEP 4: Drill holes into it and screw some screws in. Do as many as you'd like but when you screw them in make sure to not screw them so tight as to tear the rubber.

Image

STEP 5: Cut off access with a pair of scissors or a box cutter.

Total materials : 18 dollars
Total time : 15 -25 mins

Not necessary I wouldn't say but it's a nice bonus. The tape should hold up well but you can never be too careful.

Just wondering, does it screw on from the bottom of the bumper or inside it. I can't tell from the pic, it's too close up

The home depot lip gives an amazing look for the price. I love it and have gotten many compliments towards it. Easy installation. I definitely recommend this if you are tight on cash and can't afford a real lip.

I did this before on my Mazda. I don't think this is a nice add unless you're scraping the bottom of your bumper... it makes the car look cheap after awhile. I only used tape and it worked fine for a long time until I ripped it off.

I went to home depot and looked at the rubber lining. It looked really cheap and as if it can't hold up to daily driving conditions. Its just so frail feeling to the touch. Doesn't it move with the wind while you drive? :wtf2:

I haven't seen mine while it is moving. but it has held up to everyday driving for over a month now. and may look cheap because it is only bout $10. but i have gotten many compliment on this "cheap" accessory.

I might give it a shot. If it looks good on the front what do you think about installing it on the sides and rear as well? :gotme

ive been wanting to do that but not sure how easy it will be to put on the rear. also may melt from exhaust. ive got some in my car now to put down the sides to cover my neon bulbs. they stick out a little.

Yes the stillen lip kit looks amazing. I would expect that from something that costs 180+shipping tax and paint. This was just a fun thing to do when I was bored one day and it has a semi practical use.

This has been on my car for seven months and around 6,000 miles and 10-12 car washes.

(sorry for pics phone at night time)

My car is lowered so I have hit a few curbs with it which popped the rubber part away from the screw I guess but I just pushed it back in. Another thing you can try is the mustang gt lip kit thing that blindsnyper put on his car. Its around 110ish after tax and stuff I think and is very durable.
