I know that a few of yall on here have done a HID conversion in your stock fog lights. I was wondering what all yall did to fit them in there, and specs on what kit you used ect. Any help is appreciated cause im kinda a newb when it comes to electrical stuff like this.

I have 3000k Foglight hids, and 10k Headlight hids, and let me tell you, the kits i got are the best ive seen, and our path;s have good housings so it looks extremely good, looks like a high end SUV with them in.

i got mine from http://www.hidextra.com/, ive had them in my pathfinder for about 8 months now, and they work perfect, and about 4 or 5 months in my 06 hyundai sonata lx.

WOW i just looked on their website and im surprised, its 43.99$ for an HID kit now and let me tell you this isnt crap cause i got mine for 55$ on new years special and that was w 20$ off coupon, these cost as much as a set of sylvania silverstars at walmart.

the top is h4 , so navigate there, i reccomened just getting the hi/lo h4 HID kit instead of bi xenon , because honestly how much do you drive with your hi beams, so in that kit my hi beams are stock lights but i never use them anyways.

the foglights are h3, and i reccomend the 3000k ones, and they are also 43.99

Im really surprised they lowered the prices, this is an extremely good deal.

for my foglights i have the boxes mounted lower, but i dont know how it would work for you because you offroad and go thru deep water probably.

if you want ask for pics.

Yes pics would be a huge help. Now that I think about it you have a very good point with the water. I do tend to get the fogs wet and I am missing the fenderwell lining down that low so they get wet anytime it rains. If its the same price I may as well just do the actual headlights themselves. Is it pretty much a straight forward operation to put in the hid's? I have always heard that if the light isnt designed for a hid bulb that it looks terrible and can be worse than stock. But you said it looks good, so I am curious to see pics if you are able to post them up. I am really considering this now, cause the stock bulbs are pretty terrible.

One last question, do you have any problems aiming the lights and have people constantly flashing you when you drive? Cause thats the last thing I want is to be pulled over for it :(

no, theres no problem aiming them, cause the headlights have the rubber gaskets around so thats the easiest install, for the foglight install is more complicated because we have the circle things that screw on, you you have to unplug the wires from bulb i think it was, then drill a hole just so the wires fit in the middle, and i sealed it up with silicone. also i dont have any flashing problems, if you mean flashing its maybe because the car goes up and down over bumps in the road, thatsthe only time u see headlights change beam direction, if you know what i mean.

I tryed taking pics of my HID;s and i hate them cause it makes them look real s***, in real life they are crystal clear.

but i will try and show you some probably tomorrow.

So its basically just like changing out a normal headlight bulb? By flashing I meant people driving on the road flashing their lights at you cause of the HID's. Thats really my main concern because im lifted right now 2in and will be another 6in taller here pretty soon, so I dont want these just shining in peoples eyes ya know what I mean. Pics of the back of the light and maybe the wiring and where you put the ballasts would help the most. Try taking pics from an angle so the light does not shine into the camera, or just a pic of the lights shining into an empty parking lot so I can get a judge for color and dispersement. I really appreciate your help with this, im completely lost when it comes to electric and wiring, shoulda seen me wiring my roof lights :bigthumb:

in night driving these suckers light it up good, and i think they reflect the special UV or whatever tint on road signs and cop cars ,because my lights are the only ones lighting up the signs on the highway when im driving. Also good for spotting cop cars hiding since it makes all the stuff reflect off them.

Since your lifted id say just aim them straight and not down im guessing. but youd have to fool around with that.

I will get you some pics tomorrow probably.

also as in people flashing their lights at me, so far it happend only once. and ive had them for 8-9 months now.

Ok got the pics for you, in the meantime i got my white LED's which i threw in my cluster instead of the blue ones, looks alot more high end now.

Drivers Side Headlight HID BOX:

Drivers side headlight, you just put in the bulb like you would with the normal ones. the wires just run out the back cause its slotted rubber.

and this is what the one foglight looks like how i did the wires on it, i cut a slot into the circle, pushed wires in small V or U shaped slot, i cut out on the edge, screwed it in and then sealed with silicone.

Now heres the HID Pictures, this is in my garage, it was still daytime but i had the doors and blinds closed so should be good enough.

Up top are 10k, and bottom is 3k. ( if you do get these hids, i reccomend those colors, also i would order them soon cause i noticed on top of their website, its a limited time special for the 43.99 price.)

Wow man, thanks for the pics! It helps me visualize what I have to do. I think im going to go with the H4 Hi/Lo 6000k kit. I say this for 2 reasons, mainly because I dont want it to be super blue in color just a nice bright white mixed with a slight hint of blue. Also I am not converting my fog lights so blue headlights with stock fogs would look really off to me. Truck looks good all done up, liking the shiny tip on the exhaust too :)

thanks, and i was recommending the 10k /3k because i thought you were doing both, since it does give it a high end look ,and you are right about putting in 10k's and having stock fogs, 6k's will go better. I always hated the tip being a dull rusty/dirty metal, so i threw on a chrome one to not make it an eyesore, and it makes the truck have a clean appearance overall, but by like summer 2011 i should have my custom headers and full exhaust system put in. so its real-talk then, no appearance chrome tips, hahah.

I went to my buddies speed shop and got 3k yellow fog bulbs for 15.00 and they work fine. He also told me he can get the real HID's for 75.00. But im good with my bulb set up. I just dont like the orangy/whitish light that stock has.

I dont like the tip and i am thinking about changing from cat back to a dual straight design with 2 in/1 out muffler and then have a nicer tip out the back.
2.5" should free up alot of the backpressure but not too much where i lose torque.

yeah i just have a chrome tip on it cause i hated how my car was sleek and detailed, and the tailpipe was like dirt brown. Im not doing anything less than a full custom exhaust with those headers. I rather add the 300$ or a bit more it would take to make ones and be done with the whole exhaust thing in one time.

At the moment im glad I didnt go with the HID's when I was going to get them. Why you ask? Well at the moment my headlights are right about in the middle of the back window of an accord when im driving around...which is blinding enough to other drivers...when I accelerate my headlights are about even with the roof :D But ya def need to find some time to aim them. Sylvania Silverstar Ultras is what I have now and they are pretty good, nice kinda whiteish very light blue tint to them....but at the moment most of the light if not all of the light thats on the road comes from the fogs in my bumper lol.

From the pics he posted, looks like he has a pretty decent cut off for the light. Plus he is lowered which helps out also, but I bet its still bright as hell
