hey everyone im danny,i just recently got an 89 black hatch SE. the car is freaking awesome... right away i swaped from AT to MT (im still waiting on my shift boot) and lowered it in KYBs GR2 on RSR Springs.... im not sure exactly which ones they are...and there was a huge story behind them..here are some picsImageImage @ the marina autoX Image close up while i was painting my rims... mr.diego let me sport out his new meshies..dont they look sick? Image Flat Black Tear DropsImage Now i got my new projectors... (don't flame.. i could barely afford them.)

ive been contemplating and debating on weather i should go SR20DET or KA24DET... 1.KA24 is legal in Cali..even with Turbo swap.. only if it has a carb number.. 2.SR20DET is alot easyer to do... because alot of friends have done it and they know what they are doing... though...its not so legal in the "great state of california" oh and i hear SRs arent so reliable when you over boost. thank you C.A.R.B!!!sooooo.....maybe KA24DET it is.

What carb legal turbo kits are there for the KA?

I am pretty sure either way you go your turbo car is going to need a "friendly" smog inspector

your rims are polished

nevermind...you painted your stock WHEELS

as for the KA/SR war...

if you put too much boost on either, you're gonna kill something.

yeah thats true... i guess since im still going to school and using my s13 as a commuter ill use a reasonable amount of boost (like 10psi? +/- a few) nothing too nutty

I'm guessing on the stock turbo or a nice garret... but if i do do the KADET then ill defiantly do forged pistons and maybe cams... I'm not 100% on the cams.

Crooked?

If you are asking why his plate isnt centered well.that picture explains it all.Its so when he sits on the car people can still read the plate.

Word, who runs KAT out here anyway? Only fools I think...lol

But really focus on something other than your horsepower & motor and then youll still be legal, win win.

But really focus on something other than your horsepower & motor and then youll still be legal, win win.[/quote]The only reason im focusing on my motor and horsepower is because of the amount of miles the current engine has... 190k?? its a bit much dont you think?? and plus i think its way over the 200k but it only reads 190k on the cluster.....when i bought the car the speedometer wasnt really working all the time. so it wouldnt let me use cruse control nor would it mark the miles it was running(because it was always thinking it was going 0mph)fml right?i replaced the speedometer now and it works just fine... though the engine is really old and will need a swap..asap.... i still havent decided on SR or KA. i guess ill cross that bridge when i get to it. by the way here are some pics i just found my friend took a while back enjoy

does boost kick in?

...

the current VTEC arrangement is due to put out to pasture...but when it arrived, there wasn't anything like it for the price. BMW and Nissan both use nicer valve lift/timing control now.

That said, I'm sure Honda will come up with a new version that'll be excellent...they're working on it as we speak

Toss on some Kouki tails, a Xenon front lip, & coils then itll be hella sexy. Find a rebuilt KA and drive that for awhile before you boost it.
