It'd be a great Christmas card picture! We'd need drivers to help us get them all there and back or it'd take forever! :chuckle:
Oh! Me! Pick me! I can help! :gapteeth:

Even cooler than that is that she's a ONE-OWNER car (I have the original title), and I got to meet her owner's son, who remembers being driven to grade school in this car... I hope we can do it justice and my goal is to let him take it for a drive once it's finished.
And WOW! Talk about rare, one owner???

We hitchhiked the rest of the way to Vegas and then hitchhiked home. The 63 Bluebird body was similar to your Bluebird truck with squarer edges and after a fender bender the hood was replaced and painted by an artist friend (beach bum) with a rising sun. I also had surfboard racks mounted on top and drove it all over SoCal for about 4 years looking for good waves.

The one quirk I remember about this car was that it was positive ground which was not uncommon in foreign cars of the era. Is yours?
Mike - PLEASE tell me you have pics squirreled away somewhere!

I have a good friend with a 63 Bluebird.

Yes - Maggie and Peanut are both positive-ground cars. Both will be converted at restoration, though.

Spent some time yesterday "cleaning her out". Started at the trunk with a couple cardboard boxes (for stuff I want to keep), a garbage bin and a shop-vac. Got the trunk cleared out, started on the backseat area... Damn, there's a lot of mess in there.

If you ever doubt what the AZ heat can do to things, the thick rubber floor mat (Datsun didn't use carpet back then) LOOKED perfectly intact, as the owner had covered the entire floor with shag house carpet.

I touched it and it disintegrated in my hand. Wow.

Hoping to spend a little time tomorrow on it... updates and pics soon. :)

Great find Greg. I know you will do her justice. Do you have the hub caps?

I have 3.

They're in various stages of disrepair... I know it's gonna be pure misery finding a good set.

How many Datsun's do you guys have now?

There's just something about these cars that brings a smile to my face every time. Not sure if it's because I rarely see a classic Datsun or if it's the timeless, distinctive styling, but there's nothing else quite like em.

I'd imagine there's not much headroom?

Classics are as follows:

1- 1960 310 Bluebird
2- 1963 NL320
3- 1967.5 Fairlady Roadster
4- 1967 WRL411 Wagon
5- 1968 510
6- 1972 240Z

There is not a lot of room in the 310, at all. She is very small, inside and out.

Headroom is actually impressive. I'm 6'1" and could wear a tall hat inside.

Garage room? Now THAT'S a different story! :)
