Okay so my valve cover gaskets were seeping so I tried to tighten them up and that just caused the drivers side to leak twice as much as it was before and these things leak right on top of the exaust manifold which is a recipe for fire.

Trying to remove the upper intake, I was having a heck of a time trying to get the two rear water hoses disconnected. I was able to get a needle nose vice grip on the clamp but as I was trying to work the hose loose, it tore.

So I just cut the two hoses, finished up replacing the gaskets and at this point I have ordered new hoses from Nissan.

The help I ask for is how am I supposed to re-install those hoses in the back when I go to put it all back together.. any help / suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks

I wish I could help, I haven't had any first hand experience with any VG33E. Have you examined the FSM and perhaps exploded parts diagrams on Courtesy Parts to see if that would be of any help?

Just a update. Got the intake back on myself and here are some pointers.
Nissan seems to no longer carry the actual straight hose for the rear. They will substitute a longer hose that you need to cut to fit. Being like me and throwing away your old cut hose is a bad plan.

I re-installed the intake in this order:
Place a piece of cardboard across the lower intake as to not scratch it while moving the upper around. That is a important surface to not mess up by accident.

Connect the rear straight water hose to the back of the engine but not the intake.
Connected the two hidden connectors for the idle air control.
Connect the straight hose to the intake.
Install the angled rear water hose.
Connect the rear vacume hose
Remove the cardboard and install a new intake gasket.
Make sure EGR vacum boost thingy is not under the intake.
Bolt down the intake. Based on what I read on the FSM it is just 18-22 ftlbs.. seemed a lot tighter when I tried to loosen it.
Re-install the EGR valve.. I used a new gasket and that blind nut thing is a pain but doable even with large hands like mine. Hint there is a little hole in the intake that allows you to just barely see the back of the rear spot.
From there it is just all the harness/ cables / hoses.
Dont forget that little vacume hose that had to be disconnected in the front under the intake. and re-secure your O2 sensor wires.
