I am the new owner of a 1991 240sx SE hatchback with the automatic transmission (don't flame me!) and a KA24DE engine. It is black, and is without ABS brakes!
I attempted to clean my MAF sensor and ended up breaking the solder contacts and I think I killed it. Like an idiot, I removed just the sensor, not the housing....and now I know what everyone was talking about....re: the solder is the weak point. Car ran perfectly before, and now has the classic symptoms of a "loose nut behind the wheel".
The current MAF has a part number of:
22680 53F00 A36-000 G6O (not sure if that last digit is a zero or the letter o)
I found a used MAF....(from '94 Altima)...but part number is:
22680 D9000 JA36605 GAO (not sure if that last digit is a zero or the letter o)
1) What MAF part number(s) can I use to save my ride?
2) If I use a different MAF number, it may still fit, but will it alter air/fuel readings and such? I don't want that.
3) Please help me. I searched and for every one person that says I can find an Altima MAF, there is another saying only certain years, then another poster saying no as the Altima KA24DE engine is tuned differently and using its MAF will screw up my 240sx.
I love this car....I screwed up. If it were a woman I'd be buying flowers.
