Ok, so its blinking for no reason that I see but I have not crashed it or been working in the engine area. I was just driving down the road and all of a sudden the light starts blinking.

I did use the search engine but nothing came up that was exactly like this. I am really hoping someone has some idea of a fix 'cause my baby is outta warranty. So if I take her to the dealer not only will I have to take off work (dealership is 2 hours away) but I will have to pay the regular price.

Alternate Method:

To reset the light simply turn the ignition to the on position. All the lights should stay on for their diagnostic check. As soon as the airbag light goes off, before it starts flashing, immeditatly turn the car off. Repeat this 3 (turning to on then off) and the light should go away.

Sentient:

Well done and well said! However, why does our cars need so much electronic deciphering to fix any small stuff?

All that riff raff sounds like a cheat code i'd put in a video game...

tell me this: Do you have a cheat code that gives me infinite gas, or that can lower my wanted level? or how about one that can lower my body fat level?

lolz

I know trhe seatbelts have a different warranty period than the rest of the vehicle. I can't recall if the airbags are lumped into this category or not. You may still be covered if it is. Might want to double check. In either case, your light may be on becuase something is actually wrong. In which case, you should address it as it could malfunction when you need it most. Or even when you don't.

Believe me I thought about it... but since I have 1 crash on the books I figured there's no way I could afford another increase.

BTW the reset thing worked...no more blinky light

If the light comes back on, head to the dealership. That means there's an electrical problem or something wrong with your airbag system.

Its B then A. In some cases, it's B A B A. I don't think start was actually part of the code. Just needed to unpause the game or to begin the game.

Anyone remember pressing A B B A?

Sentient, my airbag light has flashed ever since I've had my car (2+ years), I was told it was just a tripped sensor, and never got round to getting it looked at.

I did the 'alternate' method, and the light still blinks, but its now noticebly slower (on. off. on. off).

Any ideas what that might mean?

I'm sure you've tried the reset multiple times right? If it never turned off completely you have an electrical issue or a problem with something in your airbag system.

Heres a link to the FSM for the SRS (airbag) section for 2003 Coupe.

Read up a little and you might get a little extra help.

The airbag light ALWAYS blinks for a reason. When you start up the computer checks all systems related. Your crash sensors, your seat belts, your front modules, side modules, and curtain modules. Then a self check within the control module below your armrest console. The light blinks when it detects a fault because there is something that didn't register with the computer. Even if the light is blinking, the air bags can still deploy in an accident to provide necessary protection, if the light is for a seat belt problem. Take it to a dealer, as the airbags should have a different warranty(i think, as I've replaced them 'under warranty' well over 60k and 4 years)

I did the reset last night, and this morning the light was no longer blinking, so looks like the reset did work.

Glad it's finally gone.
