So It's been a while since I have posted..

I last ordered 3/10 overlays for my taillights as well as a set of projector fog lights with halos.

LBC never sent me the overlays despite communication and verification of purchase! However after many weeks he did refund my money... That was a big let down and now I am going to order some from bluebat.

I started installing the fogs last fall and the cheap cast aluminum housing stripped and screw and broke so I gave up on that too!!

Since then I have only painted my diffuser black as well as remove the old plasti-dip from my wheels.. which was a PAIN! and took all day long.. literally, I was sunburnt by the time I was done and I'm naturally dark..

So I am home for the summer and have some plans I wanna do before school starts and I'm broke again.

I just broke out the fogs again and repaired the housings with an epoxy, mounted them up to the finishing pieces, and test fired the circuit on a battery charger.

I need to replace the LEDs in the halos cause they are s****y and then I need to mount them in the bumper.

I'm still not sure how I want to wire them.. I'd like to give them dedicated power and fuse while utilizing the signal cable from my parking lights or something, that would be cool!!

Anyway here are some pics

Still a lot of work to do to get them installed correctly.. I'd rather not dremel out my dash to install this switch lol

plans for the summer include 19" wheels and a spring drop.

Very cool! I think you were right about these not being made for '10 and up but they're gonna work!

Finally got my fogs installed and I'm glad!!

Decided not to go with halos because I don't have halos on the headlights so I don't think I need them in the fogs!

The install took me like four hours ! I had to remove the bumper and wiring the switch through the firewall was really difficult lol If I had to do it all over again I could do it in like an hour or less now that I know what I'm doing!

Here are some pics completed:

Image

The cut off is a little whack!! I meant to aim the right slightly lower but even at like twenty feet the difference is significant lol

Image

Here's fog only

Image

And here's my in-dash switch! Not too bad :)

Image

I'm really glad how these turned out, I love the way they look during the day when they're not even on and I like how they look all lit up. I think my next mod is going to be switchback LEDs in the running lights/signals!

Then tail overlays, then hopefully I can save up and find a great deal on wheels and a drop!

A little tip for aiming them even, which I assume you did when the bumper was off the car and on the ground:

Get a large cardboard box or table, something you can just lay flat in front of the car as a wall about 5 feet away from the front bumper. Aim one and make a little mark on the box or table at the top of the cuttoff. Then slide the box or table directly over to the other side making sure it is the same distance away from the car as it was on the other side. Aim the cutoff to line up with the mark you made for the other side, good to go. This was the only way I could get them even during daylight.

I did the same thing with my halos at first, didnt even bother wiring them. Then I got bored and figured I needed one more project to tackle for the season. They really arent that great, even with the swapped brighter LEDs, so I dont think you will miss them.

Thanks for the tip, that's a lot more accurate than trying to aim them against my garage door in the middle of the day. I think I know what happened here. I had initially lowered each unit a little past level and they both looked like the light on the left. When I installed the bumper than the right fog lifted up like you can see. I hadn't really thought of why until now. The back of the fog unit is touching the windshield washer fluid reservoir and that likely upset the aim. Now the back of the unit isn't getting hot and I left them on for thirty minutes and nothing happened to the tank-granted it was full of liquid- but I'm thinking I'll just raise the left one up to match.

Thought I'd post a pic of my current setup. I lost the plastidip wheels because I realized they were ugly and was kinda tired of them.

Mods this summer hopefully will be a spring drop and stillen front lip spoiler and rear decklid spoiler.

I didnt want to say anything since I'm still somewhat new, but his communication skills were for s***. I waited over a month and hadn't received anything, he made me wait longer saying that it was shipped out and nothing. He then refunded the money and said as compensation he would send me another set of overlays. Still waiting on those overlays, not that it matters anymore.

Ha thanks for the compliment, your wheels are really nice as well! And yeah exact same story here. I understand being really busy and everything but if you can't do it then don't accept the payments in the first place!!

I installed some footwell leds last night and they came out great!!

Image

Even some for the backseaters! Leds move easily with the sliding of the front seats.

Image

Other that that I just placed an order for a full smoke 3/10 tail tint from bluebat!

He recommended 6/10 to me over and over but I gotta say it looks too dark for my tastes and kinda dumb with the GTR cutout lol No offense to anybody else!!

Anyhow I'm really excited to get these installed and I'll post up pics for anybody wondering about how 3/10 looks!

I installed Bat's overlays tonight!! I received my order of full coverage 3/10 overlays earlier today and only got one side done before dinner. By the time I had finished the other it was dark outside. I'll post some better pictures later out in the sun and hopefully they turned out well!

Haha :) Well I tell you what, I really was not going for a dark look at all!! In the first picture only the right side is tinted, maybe that'll help you see? I was looking only to change the color and to make the lights a little more subtle. Eventually my goal for this color is to look like a stock vehicle, just way cooler then our actual stock vehicle if that makes sense!

Thanks for looking and commenting though, yes my picture quality is terrible lol

You kept them on for less than a year. Did the plastidip wear off ?

Actually no it was really solid the whole time. It stayed black with maybe a little brake dust here and there but still looked good. It was a huggeeeee pain to remove the dip though, nothing like the vids you see on YouTube.

I took mine off because the thin tires + no springs looks like s***. When I see my wheel gap, I see this

Image

Come to think of it, maybe I should just leave the wheel set up and get a cut out stencil of Tysons tattoo and put it on the left front fender of my car. I wonder if anyone would get the joke.

Check out these sweet MPG's on my drive to work yesterday morning!!

Image

This was after about a four hour drive to meet a guy from Craigslist (Yes I put some more gas in the tank during this trip but did not reset the mpg counter)

Image

Thought I'd post this up because it was the best MPG's I have gotten yet in this car. Ill be doing a lot of driving this weekend so I'm hoping to maintain it.

Oh btw what I bought from the guy!

Image

I've got the backup cam, OEM double din trim plate, and Metra steering wheel module on the way. Already have GPS antenna and bluetooth mic !!

Really excited to get this all installed, It'll be going in next week.

Here's my squeaky clean whip!
