Need advise!

i have an redtop and its smoking im thinking the problem is valve seals..
so what i want to do is rebuild but a basic rebuild.
my hp goal is 300hp no more.

i'm thinking of staying stock bottom end stock rods and pistons
i want to replace bearings add bc valve springs, cosworth hg all the timing and head bolt and main bolts and also replace oil pump just for extra security...

the thing is i dont want to do machine work so i want to replace bearings with std size bearings.
or should i do crank work or see how abuse the crank is first.

im also replacing the old t25 for an (old skool) turbonetic to4e 54trim/.63 and i also have nistune to back up any future mods.
any advise on my way of rebuilding my block..
any opinions are free taken..

thanks...

I would get the crank and block inspected by a machine shop and go from there.

Stock block with ported head, valve job, Stock cams. Made 280whp before doing the head work.
