has anyone changed the heater core

i read somewhere that it takes 10 to 15 hours, mine is leaking all over my carpet and im about to bypass it if i have to take the whole dash out to change it. some one help me outthanks josh

also fourth gear is grinding in my transmission do you think i need a new one or just try changing the clutch and fluid

ugh i have so many questions. my car has a super loud squeaking noise when i start it i think its the idle bearing cus the belts are tight but i dont know has anyone else had this problem

For the heater.

Change the fluid, but it could be a synchro going out.

i just paid 650 to have mine totally replaced...after hearing how hard it is it is worth paying for someone to do it right if u dont have the time or know how

sure does take a while. took me 2 days, cus i ran out of daylight on the first day. i dont have a garage.

keep organized with the nuts, bolts and screws. i had extra when i reassembled mine.

good time to replace gauge lights too

to change the heater core by your self without any mechanical knowledge could take 4-8 hours I guess, but anybody who knows their way around an import and can weild a rachet can likely get it done in 2-3.

i was by myself and had difficulty getting the core back in through the fire wall while seating the grommet correctly
