GT-R Wheel Swap Doable?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I've noticed folks with all kinds of Nissan/ Infiniti vehicles swapping to the OEM GT-R wheels. Is it doable on the EX? The diameters seem to work...

That would definitely be an awesome swap!

I'm not sure about the front and back being different diameter. It might be okay if you don't have AWD. They might be a little wide. Definitely look into the offsets and clearance.

2011 Infiniti EX35 Spec Range
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3 | Center Bore: 66.1 | Hardware: 12x1.25 Lug | Offset: 34-45mm

I believe you have 18x8 with +35 offset.

Stock GT-R Wheels (2009-2012)
Front 20 x 9.5 45 offset
Rear 20 x 10.5 25 offset

Here are the offset calculations.

DO IT... dont wimp out. :yesnod

I would go with 245/40R20 and 275/35R20 sized tires for proper matched rolling diameter if u have AWD. (Currently I have 245/45R19 and 275/40R19).

I don't want to say more about my experience with a staggered setup on here other than it has been ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS for the past 2 years almost and 25k+ miles...

Here is my initial post after I grabbed the bull by the horns... yeah I dredged the old thread up from the dead. Good reading too :mike new-girl-to-nico-staggered-19s-t522271.html

Update: I picked up a mint set of GT-R "Premium" edition wheels today. The fronts look incredible on the EX but the rears will not work. They stick out about 1.5" beyond flush and look super ghetto. But 4 GT-R fronts all around the EX look sick and fit very well. Once I get these rears traded for fronts, I'll get some pics up.

Here is the GTR's 285 rear tire next to the OEM EX 225's. I'm going to put these 285's on the 9.5" wide GTR front wheels then slap 'em on the back of the EX. Should be pretty beefy after...

Bummer the backs don't fit. I had a feeling they would stick out too far.

9.5" wide all around will be very nice!!

Two wheels down, two to go. The 285's came off of the GT-R rears, went on the GT-R front wheels (9.5" wide) and then onto the EX35's back end. To be an ideal fitment, they'd be inset about 1/8"-1/4" from where they are but I can't complain - they look mean! And it rides better. The car seems to have an easier time turning these wheels and there is no loss of traction under hard acceleration now. Feels like I managed to cut unsprung weight but I wasn't sure that was going to be the case with these GT=R OEM runflats.

Double bummer must be the offset and the wider tire you have on the GT-R wheel. The 9.5 should work all round. Looking real tough so far. Good selection of wheel design. :bigthumb:

With mine a lightly rolled fender helped everything in the rear fit without the slight rubbing I had on cornering when hitting a bump.

Here is my rear and some installation pics my bf took.

And Latest Pic with proper sized rolling diameter to match OEM and hence speedometer settings...

Thanks XIS u are a great resource on here for folks with issues I might add.

OhThatGuy Lookin really good even though u have different color tones.

If u have problems getting another set of wheels u could just be patient and have all 4 wheels color matched at one of those wheel remanufacturing shops. That would probably be more accurate than different wheel sets could ever be.

On a side note:
Are u having problems updating your original post? Or finding it?
Curious cause u have like 3 different threads started for the same topic which is... YOUR WHEELS... :ohsnap just sayin its all U so - have at it. :dance
Just that in the future it would be easier to go to one thread and see everything you went through to bring your wheels from concept to reality. :shifter:

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for all of the posts. This one started life as more of a "GTR wheels work on an EX?" thread, another was more tire oriented, "275/40/20's work on all 4 corners of an EX?" thread and the last was the gratuitous "I'm super bored so check out how many GT-R wheels I've had to get to arrive at my set up" thread.

To keep the nuttiness going...2 GT-R fronts from the third set arrived today. Looks like my EX will have a dark hyper silver side vs a gunmetal side. Hopefully they aren't so far off that avg folks will notice if they are on opposite sides.
