Hit deer tonight. Core support smashed, door smashed, rad cracked, fender mangled. That's all I can see so far in the dark. Tomorrow I was supposed to do parade laps around the Glen...not happening now. 'F' the world tonight!!!

Sorry to hear about that. If the frame is ok I would just replace the front clip.

Ouch Rev, sorry to hear. It doesn't look like the A pillar took a hit, I think you can have her back in tip top shape in no time. Like Jeremy Clarkson said, you wouldn't trade in your wife because she had a runny nose, why would you give up on your car just cause its banged up a bit?

Going to replace the cab with a used one. Gearing up slowly for this project. 2011 is a bust though.

I am going to make this my rebuild thread. This is going to take a while as funds are slow these days but I will archive my progress as I make progress. The plan is to replace the cab and then paint the entire truck back to OEM factory color. While we are at it we are going to upgrade the things I listed above.

Here's some pics of th tear down and the damage. It may not look like much but the replacement parts cost more than a complete used cab so used cab it is!

Thanks to everyone for all the well-wishes and concern. It's truly inspiring to know that there are people all over the country pulling for us.

UPDATES:
Barry Brown of Riters Restorations, builder of the Datsun 620 Bonneville salt flat racer, says I only need to replace the core support. He can fix the inner fender which was my biggest concern. It's all about time and money at this point. I guess the parts acquisition begins! First order of business would be finding a good core support, the rest will follow. The other good news is the truck started and moved under its own power this afternoon. All good signs. So now some pics.

Loaded on dolly.

I know it's hard to read the sign but here we are at Riters. Barry was nice enough to give us a tour while we were at it.

Damn Rev! It really sucks that your truck got smucked-up. At least she's fixable. I,ve seen alot worse after hittin a deer! Buddy of mine wrote off a 60 some-odd Chevy once after hittin a deer!
Good luck on the re-build man! Things oughta turn out alright!

Got a used hood coming. Couldn't pass it up. Even though it's red it was only $45 for the hood delivered to my work. Should have it tomorrow. Going to start collecting the little things I am going to need this week as well.

Used hood showed up today thanks to Southern Tier Auto Recycling in Beaver Dams, NY.

I think I came up on the win side of this.

Yes on both.
I have both fenders in charcoal, nice and no rust.
I removed them from my 2wd.
Same for the headlamp mounts.
And I'll probably be buying back the 94 SE from my insurance.
Have in bumper fogs with switch and wire harness.

Update 10/17/2011:

I have obtained a radiator w/shroud and a hood latch from my recent JY trip. I also rented a 10x20 storage garage and will be shipping the truck there tomorrow to reside this winter. I'm not happy about it but I need to keep my garage usable which it currently isn't. I'll be moving all my parts into storage as well. The nice part is the garage is less than 2 miles from my house so if I need to I can access the truck in a pinch. I'll have it back on my property in April of 2012 so I can begin some work on it.

That's all I currently have for updates at this time.

Update:

Green has been moved to my newly rented storage garage. The facility is very nice, a little pricey but the garages are clean and nicely built. I also moved in a lot of the parts I have been saving. The garage is totally dedicated to this truck and it's within a few miles of me.

Now for some pics.

UPDATE [10.31.11]

Nothing too exciting except the garage is now paid through November as of yesterday. With winter knocking on our doors here I have really been focusing on my Frontier more. I never feel fully prepared when getting ready for winter, call it paranoia. Taking a trip with a friend to the JY on Wednesday. I don't need much at this point but it never pains to look.

Good luck with the rebuild, when we did the resto on our truck it was in the winter and my garage was not heated. I picked up one of these and left the door up about 18 " and it worked great even when the temp was in the teens. I put an old pot on top filled 2/3 full of water, moist heat in the winter is a beautiful thing. :yesnod

Wow a much needed UPDATE!!!

I purchased the new OEM core support yesterday from the Nissan franchise of my parent company. Got a good deal too. It should be in my posession on Tuesday. This is the single most needed piece of the puzzle. I saved every penny and returned every bottle and can I could find for monies. I am so excited and I can almost taste driving this truck again come late summer. There is only two large parts left that I have get my hands on, a right side door and a right side 4x4 fender. That will pretty much complete the laundry list for damaged parts. The rest is labor from there.

I'll be sure to get some pics of the core before and after I install it for reference sake.

And that is your friendly green truck update!!

Quick UPDATE:

Scored a complete KA24E head and intake manifold from a JY 240SX for less than $100. Plans are to eventually swap to this manifold in the green truck. I'll post pics once the blizzard outside has passed and I can once again step outdoors.

I can't wait to see it mounted up too. I was stupid though and left the JY without the ECM and the MAF though. Got to go back I guess.

Today I know I couldn't contain myself. I went to storage bringing along a battery and some coolant. Spent 30 minutes getting Green's cooling system in order. Shortly after I reconnected some wiring then proceeded to hook up the battery. Short crank Green fires right up! 2 minutes later she held the most lovely idle I had heard in a long time. She's ready to be towed to Riter's Restoration on Monday where she will be for a who knows how long?!? It's up to me, Riter's is teaching me how to do all the work. I have a tow truck company coming to pick it up. I was going to tow it myself but I changed my mind, it seemed too risky.
