The green LEDs on the seat "1" and "2" buttons flash constantly about once per second. The only way to stop it is to disconnect the battery and then the flashing goes away but eventually returns.

Any ideas?

Did you try hitting the cancel button on the steering column.

Well it does actually. If you hit cancel then the seat memory and steering wheel memory doesn't activate!

So that would almost. .. almost make me crazy enough to think they are connected :lolling:

So you're saying that if you hit cancel the seat/steering wheel memory still works and is activated??

Cancel on the steering wheel cancels Cruise Control. I just confirmed that it does nothing to fix the flashing lights.

I am saying the position of the "cancel button" HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the 2 green lights flashing.....everyone,but you, already understood that.

was referring to the cancel button that stops the steering wheel from moving when you insert/remove the ignition key

Anyways though.. this really is not spose to be about anything other then what the OP asked.

So for the hell of it just hit the cancel button on the column for the two tenths of a second it takes just to see if somehow it makes a change is all I was suggesting.

Try this and let us know if it works.

1. Open the drivers door
2. Turn the key to the Run position
3. Turn the key all the way back off, but don't remove the key
4. Close the door
5. Wait about 1 minute
6. Open the door, the memory function should work now.

If the light quits flashing you'll have to reprogram the seat position memory.

N/A and qship - I cleaned up this thread... Please keep it as civil... downright name calling isn't what we're looking for here.

In the EL section there's a self-diagnosis for the Automatic Drive Positioner, which controls the seats and all that other fun stuff.. I've seen this happen before, so the self diagnosis is a great place to start.

Start on EL-76, and you'll want to put the car into mode V for the self diagnosis. It's pretty simple to follow the instructions, so if you can at least determine what the computer THINKS is wrong it's a start.

Thanks all.

I let a buddy drive the Q to Washington for a week. I'll test and report back when he gets back.

Mine did that years ago and it stopped controlling the seat all together. I purchased a new door control pad off E-Bay and it fixed it. It's just now started doing it again in the last few months. Last time I opened up the defective one and couldn't find anything obvious. Probably time to replace the door control pad again for me.

Update, I just had to change my battery and when I got the new one in realized that the seat controls were no longer flashing and the seat controls work again. Maybe my old controller is also good, just needed a "reboot".

When I disconnect my battery it will stop flashing for a bit, but eventually it will start flashing again.

That's a bummer. Month and a half later, mine is still working ok.

I have the same deal. All of my research leads me to believe that it's the BCM that's gone to hell since I can't let the car sit for more than one day before the battery dies. Just spent the afternoon trying to replace it and failed miserably.

I left out the first step which is to disconnect the battery negative cable for about 10 minutes. See the thread below.

After sitting for about 6 weeks with a dead battery, the light isn't flashing and my tilt/telescope works.

I'll have to keep an eye on it.
