A couple of questions about the race;
No MR? Cuts out several GT300 cars.

Why such a high weight? Most of the GT300 I've looked at aren't that heavy.

Does taking a higher hp car and turning the hp way down give you a huge advantage because of torque?

600pp stock, can you tune to 600 or above?

Good points.

The extra weight was so some of the non GT race cars can join.
Yes MRs can join.
As for the higher hp cars tuned down giving you an advantage... Maybe. I'll leave that to you guys.
I dare you to get a 300hp, 1170kg car to 600pp. It's not possible. You can't select a car that has over 600pp stock, but you can mod to unlimited pp if you like.

Will you be racing with us?

Racing Details EDIT:
HP has been increased to 305 and weight has dropped to 1170kg because of online racing restrictions.

EDIT #2:
The Rome track is replaces with London (reverse)

I think you have a good point with torque. I was ganna keep this to myself but in one race that we were doing, I had to detune the car to like 85%. Even though the hp changed, I dont think the torque ever did. I had much more torque than hp in that race, but couldn't tell you if it made a difference, which Im sure it did or should have thru turns.

Google searched it. Biggie, you don't have to use a GT300 car. You can use any racing car you want that falls into the restrictions.

I don't think it's a secret. In the "80 Mile Cup" I used a 1000+ hp Pescarolo C60 Hybride, and after tuning it down, it had 650hp and ~800ft-lb. So when you reduce engine power, the first thing that goes is hp and because TQ happens much earlier it stays untouched.

Exactly, you figure that if you only allow the throttle to open 65% torque and HP would be reduced by 65%...

But what I think happens in the simulation is that the "revs" are reduced. For the most part car's TQ and HP meet at 5252rpm, after 5252rpm hp increases and tq drops. Find a car that revs relativley low 6000 or so. Start reducing it's "throttle opening", you will see that TQ is affected around 85%. Now grab a Ferrari F2010 and drop it's throttle to 50%, you will see ~50% hp but TQ stays at 205 ft-lbs. This is because the F2010 revs to 18K so dropping that in half (9000rpms) keeps the power curve over that 5252rpm sweet spot.

The 5252rpm sweet spot doesn't apply to every car, but it is a reference point.

If possible I'd prefer after 7pm, would give me time to finish things (lots of S13 Coupe work) and eat dinner.

There wasn't a warning. A group of people (not Anon) took it down and Sony needs to fix it permanently or it could happen again so as of now they are doing some major updates.
It's like forced maintenance, normal PSN maintenance has a schedule and they let you know ahead of time.

f*** internet kids.

What do they expect Sony's take away message will be?
They make a tremendous case for the legitimacy and positivity of home brew software with their ddos attacks.

NICO GT5 Racing Update
It goes without saying...
It looks like we will be dealing with some serious PSN delays. The series is canceled until further notice.

I think it may be back this week for online gameplay. The PSN store will be out for a few more weeks.

...unless something else happened to cause another delay.

It isn't Anon. Anon was involved in the first PSN run, since then it has been some other people. Anon doesn't do credit card theft, also the posted an official press release stating it. In my time researching Anon, I have to say I believe them, they don't do theft. Sony is obviously trying to find out the culprits but from what I have read it is difficult to do (these people knew what they were doing). Also Sony has 2 class action law suits to deal with, 1 out of Canada for $1,000,000,000 and one out of CA (IDK the figures from CA law suit).
