So what turbo are you going to be using with that?

Is that Manifold setup for the LHD cars?? Or are you going to have to chop it up?

You a trip...lol

Im using that amusa hx40 turbocharger. I ploped it over top of my factory manifold and looks like it may clear the steering shaft but the wastegate might be in the way. I plan on going to the track this afternoon to test out my antilag, slicks and suspension combo but after that im removing the old manifold for test fitting....I will take pics then.

thats not bad. around 50 or so for shipping from japan isnt bad at all. 420 for a nice looking manifold that wont require much work to clear lhd. and they say they havent had a single one crack out of all those 600+hp rbs over there! ill be getting one of these very soon! get pics up if you get a chance.

That looks like a twin scroll manifold(even if your not running a twin scroll turbo)
do they have the option for two wastegate flanges?

I have the same manifold/turbo setup on my rb26. I ran into fitment issues with the turbine housing and the valve cover. Just a heads up!

With which turbo? I've seen a LOT of different turbo's on the Stec top mounts and never seen a turbo vs. valve cover problem.

Hey Meet, how'd the racing go last month. Sorry I couldn't get up with you and John before I left for back here. BTW, there is no twin gate option---unless you live here in Oki and can have Scott modify the mani for you :-)

Volvo HX40 (17cm internally gated housing).

Actually, your right. I have seen that specific turbo on a GTR and the exhaust housing did foul on the valve cover, but I think that's kind of a unique situation that isn't the manifold's fault. The 17cm internally gated ex housing has a giant hunk of metal hanging off of it for the actuator to bolt too. It's a BIG chunk of steel and they simply ground it off. I ran a 19cm housing with an HX40 just fine. That specific instance it will hit, but I think that exhaust housing would foul on ANY manifold and warning people about it might be a bit misleading.

Also, BTW, wasn't that 17cm housing a T3 flange and not T4? I think I remember something being funny about it. The housing is way to small for an RB25/26 anyways.

*I hope I'm not coming off as a d!ck, cause that's not my intent. Just saying most people shouldn't worry about having the exhaust housing hit the valve cover.

You are right about the big chunk of metal for the wastegate flapper and it not being the manifold's fault, but it is a T4 turbine housing. I compared it to a .96 T4 garrett unit and the 17cm was quite a bit larger in physical dimensions. I wasn't trying to complain about the manifold so much as to warn about using an internally gated housing if that was housing that came with the turbo he had.

I am waiting on a non-gated housing to come in before I make final judgement, but I have my skepticism about that fitting either. I hope it does though!

I didnt make it. I had issues when installing my sub frame aluminum bushings. I decided to go the following week and ran into more issues. but I did install the rush racing anti-lag and upgraded the cold side of my intercooler piping to 3 inch. Im gonna try and make it out this Thursday...if everything goes well.

.70 T3 housing (BYP doesn't sell a holset t4 do they)? If so fitment should be fine. I fitted the .96 T4 garrett unit I had and it was fine also. CJ may yell at you for wanting to use a T3 though! :)

Looks like there will be a few HX40 RB25/26 floating around soon.

Now that you mention it i think it is a t3. :tisk: I am fairly new to turbos and now I am trying to figure out what housing to use with this mani in order to clear the rb25 valve cover.I just have the internaly gated stock housing the turbo came with and will be rebuilding it and using ex housing hot side.

Well, you could just pick up a used holset T4 turbine (non-gated), CJ says they should fit. This would prevent you from having to modify the manifold to accepting the t3 housing or using buying a crappy t4-t3 conversion thingy (plus they are cheaper than the bullseye housings!) I wont be getting mine for at least another week, but I can update then with my findings.

Update.....I finally blew the oil seals in the factory turbo Tuesday. So just like all my freinds have said "its time to go ahead and slap the other turbo on,". Ill be removing factory turbo, dump pipe and all this afternoon and bolting up the manifold/hx40 to finally look at wastegate/steering shaft placement...

Its pretty easy to modify. Just include a 90* bend or so right after the merge pointing torwards the bottom of the block, weld on flange, install wastegate, weld in recirc pipe into bottom of the downpipe, and done!. Not a screamer fan myself.

I think I'm going to just keep my twins, so if anyone wants my new Stec manifold, I'll take $500 shipped (USA).
