Its been a while since Ive posted here. Used to have a maroon hatch with a Ca.

Changed to a dual cam, and now after going through an s14, a datsun 720 and having an audi for a while Ive broken down and bought another 240.

Really happy with the car, and after spending so much time building my audi just to sell it, its nice to get something I don't have to do all over again. I mean, I know how to do all the work, so im not just buying some car and claiming it to be my build, its sure not, and I already have to pull apart half the setup to replace the exhaust gasket. Fuuuuuuu... right?

Ha, anyway, plans for this car are to get the tune sorted out, pull out the interior, and put s14 seats in with a bride drivers seat, rhino liner the car and build myself a cage. Id lower it more, but where I live its impossible.

How many psi are you pushing in the car? That car looks familiar. Did it belong to another NICO member before?

Haha... the front end of your new car reminds me of a Porsche 944 turbo. I like it! CDRL's FTW! Congrats on the new buy, OP! :bigthumb:

Its doing 7 right now, owner told me it is tuned for 12 soim not sure how thats all going on as theres no boost controller my guess is something with the wastegate. And I bought it from a guy in modesto who said something about nico, so im sure he was on here. I live in Sacramento so the car has moved a lil bit.

And as a 944 goes, that was my first car, it does look a lot like it, thats probably why I like the front with the fogs so much. I remember back when I had my hatch and went chuki front end I couldn't find those things anywhere.

Yeah, the cooling duct wasn't the best, but it works. I just have to find some mesh to cover it up so it looks a little better.

And now to tear apart the turbo to get to the exhaust manifold. Anyone done that before? Im still trying to figure out the least amount of stuff I can take off, as it takes a while to get new gaskets.

Take off the turbo elbow and then undo the 4 studs holding the turbo to the manifold.
It's a pain since it's so cramped in there.

You can also just undo the turbo elbow and take the manifold off with the turbo still attached to it.

I was thinking of the model with this bumper:

Man, if the 240's aftermarket didn't totally have me so spoiled, I would soooo get a 944... STi motor in there would be nice.

That must be why it looks familiar. I used to live in Northern California as well. Since you live in Sac, take it to Sacramento Raceway and see what it can do.

Well I ended up barely getting all the nuts off the manifold to the head and then disconnected the downpipe to the exhaust, allowing me to slide the whole manifold off the head a little. But the downpipe/dump pipe combo is getting stuck on the steering linkage, so Idk what im gonna do. I dont want to separate everything as I don't want to have to get a new turbo gasket and turbo to exhaust gasket. But It looks like thats what I might have to do at this point.

And after working on it all evening I have fiberglass everywhere. I hate fiberglass.

Oh this is my plan as soon as I fix this exhaust leak.
